Ensnared by a Dream

Asone was never like the other kids In his village on the borders of the Radiarch of Ondelenia and the Radiarch of Esobrel, for he was a spirited boy. While they all listened to their parents and take up their jobs when they became old enough, Asone wanted to see what was outside of his village, not be stuck here and be a forester like his parents. He mainly got this idea mainly from the travelers that came through to rest before crossing the border to and from Ondelenia, listening to some of the stories that they told in the local tavern. But the ones that he was fascinated with the most, were the Remnant Hunters and their many tales of exploration of the faraway places in search of lost relics of old. It was from these stories that he dreamt of traveling to faraway places and finding a life of adventure and excitement that came with it. Yet his parents did not see it that way and wanted him to stay safe and care for the family, but Asone knew that life as a forager was not an easy one and his family was hardly getting by especially when you had three children to feed including himself. He believed that it was the only way for his family to get out of poverty. So he ran off in the middle of the night, leaving only a letter, and headed south to the city of Acosh, where a district office of the Hunter's Company was after overhearing it from one hunter in the tavern.
Being away from home for the first time was quite an interesting trip for Asone as he felt excitement and a hint of fear since he didn't know where he was actually going. But he managed to find his way with the help of his fellow travelers and learning from them to better understand to remain safe on the road as well as what he learned from his time at the tavern from any traveler who will listen to him. Eventually, he would reach Acosh, and after many hours of searching and asking for directions, managed to find the Hunter's Company and attempted to join only to be brushed off as children were not allowed to join. This did not stop him however as he knew just had to convince them that he was an adult and he was already tall enough to look the part. So he just decided to put on a disguise, shoes that made in a little taller, a few layers of clothing to make himself look bulkier and some trimmed hairs from a goat to create facial hair. After a few days of practicing his act, he went back and using all that he knew was able to get in with the skin of his teeth. For several weeks he would be put through basic training and would be placed under an apprenticeship under an experienced Korish hunter named Ranur Thriggs as they set out on their first expedition with other hunters.

A Calling Discovered

During his apprenticeship under his burly teacher, Asone would learn that being a hunter was not game as he saw firsthand the danger that came with it, as he had several close-in counters with Gloomspawn while in his first ruins and the decay as it was falling apart. This resulted in the loss of a member of his party, yet they managed to find some relics, one of which was thanks to him due to his keen eye from years of foraging and using it to save the rest of the party as it emitted a strong light to scare away the Gloomspawn. It showed his teacher that he had the potential of being a fine hunter, even if he knew he was still a boy during their expedition. This allowed him to continue his training and any further skill that came with the trade, after a few more expeditions, he would finish his apprenticeship and return home in secret and give much of they the money he earned from his expeditions only to leave again to go back into the world. This was what he wanted to do as found wonder out of the fear and hardship that he had encountered on his journey to become a hunter and sought to see more of it by seeing far-off land a seeking out the mystery that the world had forgotten.
The last two years since he became a hunter have been a journey of a lifetime for Asone as he continually travels across the continent mainly in Esobrel and Ondelenia to ensure that he can give money to his family and go on his way again. His skills have since improved as well as his knowledge involving the ancient world, keep some of these relics with him as a means of protection while on his journey. All the while exploring many places in his travel and making friends and foes alike along the way. Yet it has not caused him to lose the spirit of adventure that keeps him on the move. Though his status as a Remnant Hunter may seem amateur to his peers, his skill has made him noticed by anyone wanting to hire a reliable hunter. As long as he can travel and get paid while doing it then he has no problems at all, for the road has yet to end for him.
