Unique Features

Since it’s the home to fliers it has two main entrances, the one at ground level for those who cannot fly, and the one on the rooftop.   It is the home of fliers, so the inside is a long winding ramp upward with an empty central core from the ground to the top floor to allow flying from floor to floor. Description   From the outside, the building looks like a large tree with a nest at the top; hence, it expands outward as it gets higher. The building is textured to resemble bark with images of flying creatures appearing carved into the texture.   The main business entrance at the ground level resembles a cross between a high end office building entrance and a post office. It has a long counter where those wishing to have packages delivered can get service, and a main desk [where Tony sits], for those wishing to have magical, or airborne delivery. Service hours are from 8am until 7pm. While those are the base business hours, for an extra charge, deliveries can be asked for 24/7. This is to accommodate magical creatures for whom daylight may not be an option.   On the first level above the main business floor there is housing and classrooms for The Fledglings. Fledgling classes include things like; navigation and orientation, ethics of delivery, skyway law, etc.   Between the levels for the fledglings and the intermediates is the cafeteria area which serves those living in the dorms of the Rookery Academy. This cafeteria has a head chef who breaths fire, literally. There is a seperate area for a food court for those adults who can afford to purchase their own food.   The next level up is for intermediates. There are classrooms here as well, but fewer. Lessons include things like; care and handling of magical packages, etc.   The next levels is for the advanced High Flyers. At this level there are only individual suites for those employed by The Rookery for 24/7 delivery. These are the pride of The Rookery.   The penthouse contains the main offices of the executive personal, as well as the aerial delivery dock. Here High Flyers can grab their delivery bags [these bags are uniquely designed because of the nature of the delivery as well as the unique physical characteristics of the delivery creature], and take off with maximum uplift advantage.

Sights

Because of its central location, and general height, you can see the entirety of the city laid out around it in 360 degrees. Now, with the Burning Tower literally burning, you can see the light of that at night. It is high enough to allow for training in navigation and orientation without having to leave the building. Sounds   Depending on the level, The Rookery is actually pretty quiet. The acoustics were designed for an internal announcement system and it is well soundproofed from the outside. Sometimes the chatter from inside can be a bit overwhelming because of the hollow core; however, when it gets loud, it’s usually just the chatter of the Fledglings.

Smell

The building has a clean, earthy smell. The base of the central core is actually an indoor zen garden with a koi pond.
