Tayyiba Kusuf
At nineteen years old, Tayyiba is content to work in her parents' Inn of the Laughing Fountain - for now. Although she will inherit the inn as their eldest child, that is likely to be some time away, and she dreams of becoming an Airlancer She is practical enough to realise that the Airlancers are elite and few manage to enter their ranks, but she still spends some of the coin she earns on regular combat lessons with one of the retired explorers in town.
Her father, Al-Jazeed, is aware of her desires and worries ceaselessly about her leaving home to join the Lancers, but will not push for fear of driving her away.
