Vukash'ai

The Vukash'ai are those afflicted or born with Vukash, also known as Wolfborne Madness.

The term literally translates to "Wolf-Walker" and is surrounded by extensive amounts of Myth-Weave, folklore and dreadful stories.

It is said that the bite of a wolf, another Vukash'ai or even a curse placed upon one by a malevolent Vedmak afflicts unfortunate souls with Vukash which first causes a terrible fever incapacitating the afflicted until finally causing their body to change into a horrid antropomorphic wolf-like shape and sending them into a fear-inducing bloodlusting frenzy in which they kill and eat any living being they encounter.

Legend also has it that the Forestfolk consider Vukash to be the highest blessing of their dreaded Eldest Gods or specifically that of the Twin Wolf Gods Kahari-Cathan whose hybrid shape the Vukash'ai are said to embody and that among them the Vukash'ai are considered to be holy embodiments of the former and worshipped.

Among the Lüngarm and Warg of the Leshivoi Forest such practices and beliefs are common as they see their respective species as Incarnae of the dual aspects of Kahari-Cathan and those afflicted with Vukash as embodying the most-sacred hybrid shape.
