This article contains important information about the world of Starsong!
It's WAWA time!!! I'm been very excited and nervous for this time of year to come around again as it will be my second time putting forward my work for these awards. I'm looking forward to seeing what everyone one else has entered and I wish you all the best of luck. You can find the details of my entries below.
Best Article - The Great War
This article is an old one, written for worldember 2023 way back at the beginning of my worldbuilding journey, however it is still one of the pieces of writing that I am most proud of. The emotion and history I managed to convey within this piece is something I don't feel I have ever been able to replicate. This article holds a special place for me, and I wanted to give it a chance to shine!
Artist's Most Beautiful World - Starsong
This is a category I spent long time deciding on whether or not I would enter, however I ultimately decided to give it a chance. Starsong is the first world where I have made my art one of the main focuses. This world gives me a chance to explore a brighter, more cheerful art style that I have a lot of fun creating with.
I try to incorporate my art into as many articles as possible, even during challenges like summercamp and worldember, because I think it makes my world feel more alive. It has also helped me find ways to better incorporate my art into my writing and worldbuilding more frequently
Wondrous Nature - Strions
This article is one of my favourite articles I have written this year (and one of the longest!) Worldbuilding species is always something I've found daunting, but I gave it a go during WorldEmber and I am so pleased with how it turned out.
I always find the culture, history and traditions of the species I write to be important so they feature heavily in this article. However, you will still find lots of information about Strion's natural environment, appearance and life-stages.
Rise of Nations - Charlie Lancaster
Charlie Lancaster is one of the most influential people in the world of Starsong, and not deliberately either. Their story is important because it shows how individuals can change the world just by being themselves.
Charlie's article was written for Summercamp 2024 and I am very proud of it. It highlights both their contributions to society, The Last Voyage and their own character development. This is one article that I really feel represents what the world of Starsong is all about.
Best of luck this year! <33
You too!
