Valenshot - Island
Bordered by the unforgiving wastelands of Dor Silathor, Valenshot is a wretched land where the most reviled criminals are sent to work until their death. Several slave-trading families run Valenshot but the Valenshot family are very much the central power sitting atop of the tense but rigid hierarchy. The Valenshots have proved on several occasions that they are willing to spend the most coin and spill the most blood and as a result they act as the de-facto authority for the nation as well as providing it it's namesake.
Slave labour is illegal according to The Enclave of the North with the exception of criminal sentencing. However, perhaps unsurprisingly, a large portion of the slaves in Valenshot are not criminals at all, with most of the traders in the nation striking deals with "private interests". It is known that some individuals have escaped from Valenshot but it is unknown exactly how many. This is largely due to the fact that the traders in Valenshot refuse to disclose the amount of escapees, with the Valenshot family, themselves outright refusing to acknowledge any escapes.
Furthermore, few individuals are ready to admit they've ever been in Valenshot due to the many other issues which would arise from such an admission.
