Stryder's Stead

Famously Stryder’s Stead is the best place for someone to obtain regular work no questions asked. The pay is pretty poor (Around 2-4 Silver a day depending on the taskmaster) but does include shelter and a very basic meal a day. Naturally, this attracts many characters who may be on the run, or people who have found themselves on severely hard times, however it is possible to build a career in the Worklands with supervisor and taskmaster roles paying quite well. Furthermore, due to Blackstryde’s swampy, marshy climate farmable land is quite difficult to find let alone obtain – The Worklands is the most productive farmland in the region.
Historically, a lot of travellers used to pass through Stryder’s Stead on their way to cities in what would later become known as the State of Rejuva however since the Blink they pass through on their way to see the Abyssal Edge – a breathtaking supernatural phenomenon in which the land has been severed from itself and the surrounding ocean pours into the endless pit that know exists and the horizon disappears into complete darkness.
The city is completely unwalled and sits between a forks of the Bronzeruin River. An open city is quite dangerous which is why The Worklands also offers paid Militia training and relies on the secretive druidic order The Cricle’s Rest’s protection and vigilance in exchange for their (relative) autonomy.
The Lawmaster for Stryder’s Stead is a young woman named Wynda Esbrook.
