Solace
The nation of Solace, otherwise known as the birthplace of the Church of Sol, is a nation built on 3 things: Religion, Military might and Adventurers. Over the years of it's long history, it has been famous for it's crusades, it's zealous nature and it's strange ability to consistently churn strong adventurers.
Back in it's early days, Solace was originally one small Human kingdom in the world of Spyre, surrounded by many others with it's capital city, Bastion City, being under constant threat of Invasion. But one day, the King of the realm called out to the Gods, begging for the strength to help bring his country to greatness so his people may live happy. He received no answer from the ever aloof deities, no aid came to him. The Gods had abandoned his nation. All except one.
Sol, a relatively young god at the time, came to the King that night in his dreams, riding on a chariot wreathed in the light of the sun, granting the King the strength his country needed, under the condition that his country forever honour the gods name. That morning the king awoke and found his 16 strongest knights had each had a similar dream. It was then decided they would honour this god as asked, the King renaming his country Solace, and sending his knights and armies out. In their holy crusade in their god's name, they absorbed many countries and cultures into their own. Soon they grew into a mighty nation, one that was beset on all sides by enemies.
Highcourt, a nation that neighboured Solace, decided to reach out with a deal. In exchange for arranging peace deals between the other nations, Solace would join as a part of their Counsel of Chosen , working loyally in tandem with Highcourt, to push both ever higher. And thus Solace set aside its arms, still proud to bear their God's name in their country and still proud to spread his word, except now through more peaceful means.
