Mantles

Mantles are titles that grant their bearers powers. Mantles are an ancient magic, born around the times of the first of species. No one is sure how a mantle is made, only that they came into being to bestow responsibility and power. There are many Mantles around that can be bestowed. Each postition of the Faerie Courts is considered a mantle, as with each person who takes up the title is granted the same power.Any person can take up a mantle as long as they meet it's requirements. While similar in nature to a pact in that it is borrowed power, it differs greatly. A pact is a customisable deal that grows in power as you do. A Mantle is a title that holds strict rules but comes with greater power than any pact.
