WHiV Session 10: Risky Business
General Summary
May 28 - 29, 1996
The coterie, bracing for a grueling mission to stop the Sabbat from waking a Methuseleh, stayed in Vegas for a couple nights to tie up loose ends. Anthony warned Joshua of the dangerous situation ahead, sequestering himself in his haven to attempt a ritual to connect with his mawla. The ritual worked better than expected, transporting Anthony to a dreamscape to confer with the Dracon face-to-face and gleaning some insight on how to deal with the crises facing the coterie.
Patrick prowled the outskirts of Vegas, locating the site where the FBI were holding Jeanette Voerman for interrogation. The coterie managed to mesmerize the guard while Patrick sneaked inside with his invisibility, but Norbert's poor stealth abilities quickly alerted the FBI agents to the vampiric intruders. Anthony and Norbert were escorted to a room where they met with Julia Rothman, who appeared more open to negotiating than the coterie expected. She saw the existence of vampires as a minor threat compared to the other eldritch horrors lurking in the world of darkness, but despite offers to collaborate Anthony was reluctant to breach the masquerade any further. The coterie would have to speak with the Camarilla leadership to discuss how to handle interactions with the federal government, in the meantime Patrick would stay in FBI custody in exchange for Jeanette's freedom.
Back at the Vegas World Casino Anthony got an earful from Nadiya and Cesca Stirling for his masquerade breaches and past affiliation with the Sabbat (now come to light thanks to Jan Sava's presence in Vegas). Such trespasses would be worthy of the death sentence in most circumstances, but Anthony's boldness and ambitions were enough to have Cesca open to alternative forms of punishment after the coterie had taken care of the Sabbat. Nadiya would meet with the FBI to try and come to some sort of agreement, and resources had arrived for the coterie to head into Sabbat territory.
