Army

The Army is the land force of the Federal Republic, it is the second most important branch in terms of equipment as well as personnel of the armed forces and is responsible for the planetary ground defense on fully colonized planets or moons. In this context, these soldiers are equipped and trained to deal with many environments, including those stationed on planets or moons that have uninhabitable or low gravity conditions. However, almost all celestial bodies under the responsibility of the Army are habitable with gravity close to Earth.

Structure

The Army is led by the Chief of Staff of the Army which has a very important role in the Joint Chiefs of Staff by being in charge of the Land Command or LANDCOM along with the Vice Chief of Staff of the Army. This command has a more administrative than operational role by managing the material and human resources available to the branch. The Army is one of the four main branches of the armed forces, it occupies a central place in its last since it is it which aims to serve as the main planetary defensive force.

Hierarchy

Like all branches of the armed forces, the Army assigns its commissioned and non-commissioned officers to military ranks depending on their level of responsibility within the branch. Unlike non-commissioned officers who do not require professional training, commissioned ones must attend the Military Academy of the Federal Republic to obtain a rank equal to or higher than Second Lieutenant.

Public Agenda

Its goal is to defend the planets against hostile external forces, but they can also help the Republican Guard if the latter requests it. It is the branch of the armed forces which is currently the least used, the only time that they really returned in action is during the Western War.

Assets

Vehicules

The Army have many vessels and vehicles at their disposal including the Inferno tank, the Cheetah Light Tank, the LG-2 Beetle armored vehicle and the Mogul lignt vehicule. Even if the Air Force is in charge of part of the air support, the Army still takes care of the more local air support, which is why it has many vehicles such as transport or combat helicopters.

Infrastructures

To defend all Republic planets, the Army has established a huge network of military bases built at key locations on them. It is in these bases that the military equipment of this branch is stored, that the existing troops train and that the new recruits receive their training. Note that most Marine Corps bases are adjoining Army bases to save space and receive support from the Marine Corps in the event of an attack.

History

The Army is one of the four main branches of the armed forces of the Republic and at the beginning of its history, was little known to the general public, despite its status as the second most important branch in terms of equipment and personnel. However, it was during the Western War, the only time the Republic was directly attacked, that this branch gained popularity, notably at the Battle of Voga where troops held out for four months before the siege was lifted by the Navy.
