Glitch Virus
A common effect of exposure to Glitched environments is the development of a Glitch Virus in a being or object. The specific effects of these viruses varies widely among living beings, but often comes with a degree of erratic or irrational behavior. Objects may develop strange malfunctions and, in rare cases, a simple, violent intelligence.
Transmission & Vectors
Glitch viruses that are contagious vary wildly in how they spread. Some rare cases feature the virus as a paralogical entity that transfers between hosts, rather than recreating itself.
Treatment
Debuggers treat most Glitch viruses by overwriting the infected memory and defragmenting or deleting any object that acted as a host. In the case of Users, this often means an extended stay on the Rez Queue followed by Drift Correction.
Prognosis
Swift treatment generally minimizes the harm, but the course of a Glitch Virus is difficult to predict. Some strains have been known to be fairly benign or, as Legend University would have Soulbank believe, beneficial in providing unique abilities.
Sequela
