Neera Kas
Well... what can I say about myself?Born to Hok and Neera Kas on Pyros, Neera's been always a bit of a shut-in, preferring the soothing hum of databunks and melodies of Old Earth to the outright away missions that Jude liked. Because of this, shi had become a hacker and data operations specialist.
One thing for sure is that I'm not Jude and don't exactly aspire to be hir. We have our own ways.
While Jude prefers to go investigate in person, I prefer the soothing hum of databanks and ancient melodies our blokes took from Earth, which help me concentrate on combing through data. While Jude once nearly gave Kirina a heart attack with hir reckless shenanigans, I nearly gave good doctor a heart attack with my diet. Never thought I'd hear an Exonymph, a notoriously resilient and adaptable being, muttering something about 'Yes, Vectors are omnivorous, but... this combo... how are you even alive, child?'.
Need to admit, though, those instant noodles and sublimated protein blocks were really tasty and didn't distract me from my work too much. Though, maybe, washing them down with stim-drinks was a bit excessive, in the hindsight...
Well, long story short, a few years under her watchful six eyes later, she got confident in me enough that I won't gorge myself to death again, while getting buried under the mountains of food wrappers. Can't say it was for the worst - I was certainly far away from the looker Jude is back then, but now I look more like a younger version of hir.
Still, I prefer to work from Pyros, sorting through the data clients give me and extracting useful information from it. Wrote a few rather specialized programs for that, too.
And about mom and pop... yeah, I do visit them rather often. We're a family, after all. Even the wandering soul that is Jude.
Not too long ago, after Jude's undergone a full-on Cog conversion, Neera and parents went through a somewhat less drastic version, which saw hir brain extracted from NCS and put into protected braincase with autonomous life support and some other niceties, allowing easier switching from body to body and some protection from headshots.
Recently, Neera went to Martia Disk for hir first ever public presentation of security vulnerabilities shi's discovered over time.
