Grrogn

The Emberlon Forge was something out of a novel. Large contraptions built by the once-golems that could do magnificent things. It was no wonder why it was the center hub of trade. And despite the name, it didn't just specialize in smithing. Just as the contraptions brought ore and wood to the blacksmiths, they also brought thread to the weavers, paints to the artists, and runes to the enchanters. It was a solid few hours before I realized I had done nothing but watch the restless factory run in all it's glory.
- Spaeron's Journal
Hardy dwarves that specialize in craftmanship and mercantilism, these are people who feel that artists and craftsmen should take pride in their work and never sell something of low quality. To them, working at an anvil or loom is an art form, one that requires time and effort to master. Their items tend to be of extremely high quality and are sought out far and wide. Due to this, they've also become prolific and professional merchants, if a bit crude in their social skills.

Basic Information

Anatomy

Mountain dwarves, like many, are short and stocky. However, their defining detail is the runes that are engraved in their skin. When born, these dwarves have clean, unblemished flesh. However, as they grow older, symbols begin to pop up after life-changing events, describing the experiences that changed the course of their life.

Growth Rate & Stages

Many dwarves are known to reach adulthood around the age of 50, which is usually cause for a party or celebration as they begin their 'The Growing Trials'.

Ecology and Habitats

Out of all dwarves, these are the ones that most prefer to live underground and in mountains. If ever living above ground within cities and typical houses, they will find themselves drawn to buildings of stone rather than wood. Also, they will almost always have a gem or rock that comes from their home, giving them a sense of comfort despite alien surroundings.

Dietary Needs and Habits

The dietary needs of dwarves can be considered a bit strange as rotted food or items not typically considered food still give nutrition. This is due to the fact that, deep down, they are still golems that only need energy to function. Alcohol, which is a staple of dwarven passtime, is also shown to be a nutritional source for them as well.
