Enari Equivalent of Courting and Marriage

Humanoids in general usually find themselves one (or more) life mate(s) and keep together as a unit for most of their lives. The Enari elves are the exception to this rule. Although some Enari elves do make social relationships out of romantic love where they are exclusive to each other, it's not the norm.

There isn't an ideal in the Enari elven culture where being in a relationship is important. Yet sometimes two or more elves will fall in love and decide to live their lives together. This isn't a permanent deal like a marriage, and can be stopped at any time. Some of these last until one of the parts die. Gender is not an important factor in these romantic relationships.

In the Enari elven culture, sex and romantic relationships aren't directly connected. Even in the few romantic relationships that happens between Enari Elves they're seldom sexually exclusive. Sex in the Enari elven culture is generally something that happens between two or more willing individuals regardless of relationship status.

The Enari Elves and Other Cultures

Rarely, but occasionally, an Enari elf falls in love with someone from a different culture. Considering the Enari elves is the humanoid with the longest lifespan with the exception of the Elders and possibly the Half-Elders, most Enari elves who fall in love with someone outside their own culture ignore their feelings. They often fear losing the person they love, and that is something they really don't want to go through.

If the Enari elf decide to ignore the promise of imminent heartbreak they usually go with whatever courting and marriage rituals the significant other's culture uses.

The most known Enari elven couple is Queen Loranel Edea Arbelladon and Kael-Eshalor Nivenna Caerin. Although not in any way official and quite a bit scandalous, everyone in Enarion knows it's a thing - and what can they say about it? Loranel is their queen, after all.

The most well-known Enari elf and outsider couple is the Enari noble Velethuil Alamaris and Princess Farona Irevos ogf Kupria. Officially betrothed on the Winter Solstice between the years 2111 and 2112, it's still a relatively new thing. It's certainly going to be important for diplomacy, since the Alamaris family is one of the highest noble houses in Enarios, and Farona is the daughter of the Kuprian king.
