Master Plot
- Students from the University of Shardinia descend on the campus to do their annual prank. Secretly, they steal something important from the Science department
- Perhaps the Adventuring Society's patron turns out to be a famous campaigner, and gets arrested at some point, leading the society to break them out of prison
- Perhaps the Adventuring Society's patron turns out to be in cahoots with the baddies, and the group steal something incredibly powerful that ends up in the hands of the bad guys
- One of the floating islands goes missing. It's been captured by pirates and turned into their "ship" with magical propulsion from a big Alanmantium gem - perhaps the pirates steal it from somewhere?
- There could be a movement to decriminalise undisclosed magic
- Runk Skunklung has an asthma like disease called Skunklung - it runs in his family, and his family were ostracised from the goblin community because of it. Perhaps it was a side effect of some experiment by the government
- Fight for resources - the government of Taurinestein want to control the world's supply of Alanmantium
- The Elemental Lords return to Shardinia to avenge the destruction of the planet and pillaging of its resources. Perhaps fire is an unlikely ally as Kossuth naturally opposes the other Elemental Lords. Domenica stands up to Kossuth
- Taurinestein was the first nation to discover Alanmantium. A volcanic region in the north rested on a shard of Alanmantium, which broke free from Alan's skeleton during the Great Accident. The Alanmantium made its way to the surface over the years during a series of volcanic eruptions. However, they had a limited supply, which ran out towards the end of the Age of Invention. The United States of Turmerica, upon finding out about Alanmantium, built down (up) to the core of the planet and started to mine the material. Turmerica was the first nation to discover the underside of the mainland and the core of the planet, when one of their mines dug all the way through the mainland
- Cult of Alan think Alan will return, reclaim his femur, and ultimately complete his experiment, keeping them alive and installing them as the ruling party on his newly created planet.. They want to drive the floating islands back down into the seas to re-fuse the bones of Alan’s femur together. Rich people get to survive on the island. They send signal into space. Mindflayers arrive
- Murder was criminalised at the start of the age of peace
- A dam is being constructed somewhere to provide electricity, but its construction is controversial and has angered water beings and worshippers
- Govt know about Alan, and have known for a long time, but have kept it secret, choosing to bury story and discredit the scientists that also found out about the planet's origin
- Religion aligned with the govt are behind a lot of the misinformation about Alan. They're planning the "restart the planet" idea to appease Alan
- The gods all made a pact to not interfere with the planet, for fear of reprisal from Alan, whose abilities and intelligence had grown to an impressive and intimidating level. One of them has betrayed the others, however, to gain power over the others, and has imbued their followers with magic and powers
- Mystra infused Alanmantium with magic (reason to be decided)
- Sour belt is inhabited by giant wiggly worms
- There are a number of extremely powerful Alanmantium crystals - cut by a specific Dwarven artificer many centuries ago - that have been lost. The bad guys want them

- Taurinestein government have been dealing arms to the Stormfoot family for a long time
- Taurine made a deal with Marog/Sherbert. They would give to Marog's hoard in exchange for protection. They added a lot of value to the Stormfoot Hoard. It's believed that Taurine broke their deal with Marog when they banished her, but in reality the Stormfoot House betrayed her
- Gordon's character's parents worked in the Habanero Alanmantium mine. They were some of the first Duergar to show magical qualities. They tried to keep their powers secret, but others started to inhibit the same powers, and just after he was born, all magical Duergar were rounded up by the mining company, who sought to use their powers to mine Alanmantium faster. It links back to the powers that be in Taurinestein, who have a controlling stake in the Habanero City mine
- Charlie's character's parents are silversmiths who own a small jewellers/appraisers/antiques shop in Caffeinehagen. They also make weapons for some of their less lawful clientele, but Charlie's character doesn't know. They are making weapons to send to the Vedalken in the dark to fight in a secret war that is happening down there. There is some sort of cover up by the government i.e. they've created werewolves or vampires or something
- Nat's character's parents run a church in Fruitellona. Temple of Torm
- Changelings have always been persecuted. A long time ago, they agreed to give up their magic with the promise from authorities that any further persecution would lead to legal repercussions. Each Changeling's magic was stored in a small Alanmantium gem, with just enough power to enable them to maintain one visage of their choice. These gems soon became sought after, however, and as the persecution of Changelings grew, people would steal Changelings' gems, removing their visage and leaving them exposed to baying mobs who would gleefully harass them, or worse. The authorities reneged on the deal and turned a blind eye to the violence, forcing many of the remaining Changelings into hiding
- The Heads of Chemistry and Physics at CU have been working on a design for an unlimited source of power using Alanmantium. They've been getting close, but all their research has been stolen. The long game is that this device has been invented already. The "Worldrazer" that was developed by Vedalken scientists as a weapon of mass destruction was actually a source of unlimited power, which the Taurish government wanted to keep secret so they could continue to monolopise Alanmantium and not have to share it with everyone. They're on to the teacher's work and are determined to stop them, at all costs
