Elves
Elves hold a position in pop culture unchallenged by any other metatype, partly due to their exotic looks, striking features and the adoption of Sperethiel. Many media icons - from models to singers to politicians to porn stars to high profile lawyers - are elves.
A new generation of elves is attempting to dispel the myths and unfair media portrayal of elves as weak or conspiratorial. Some are going out of their way to paint themselves as rebellious street toughs, swelling the ranks of gangs like the Ancients.

Civilization and Culture
Major Language Groups and Dialects
Many (but far from all) speak the "ancient" language Sperethiel. The claim that Sperethiel is ancient is disputed by some, as little evidence survives from the Fourth Age to prove it.
History
Elves are thought to have been created by Great Dragons, however this is not confirmed.
Interspecies Relations and Assumptions
Unlike Dwarfs, Trolls and Orks, who are often discriminated against on the basis of being "different and ugly", elves are often looked down upon because they are "different and beautiful". According to stereotype, all elves are either poncy faux-aristocrats, homosexual or back-to-nature "dandelion eaters" (though a majority of elves are, in fact, vegetarian).
This intolerance is fostered by a common perception that there is an "elven conspiracy" set to take over the world - a belief that is only bolstered by the creation of the "elven" nations of Tir Tairnigre, Tír na nÓg, the Zulu Nation and Pomorya.
