Trolls

Trolls are both the rarest and the most exotic of the five basic metatypes, and due to the difficulties that they face they often band together away from other metatypes, or with Orks.

Basic Information

Anatomy

Most trolls have arms that are far longer in proportion to those of other metahuman races, and their skin is often ridged and lumpy due to natural dermal bone deposits. This gives them a natural armour.

Growth Rate & Stages

Some humans undergo a process known as goblinization - turning into an Ork or Troll before or during puberty. This process takes a few days, is said to be quite traumatic, but avoids the shortened lifespan that those born as Trolls suffer from.

Social Structure

Many trolls shy away from society due to prejudice, and the struggles of living in a society oriented to people much smaller than themselves. Trolls often band together both socially and culturally as a result.

Facial characteristics

A troll's ears are pointed, and they have two extra teeth - for a total of 34 - including prominent lower canines. They also have a pair of horns that grow in all manner of ways - straight, curled, twisted etc.

Trolls are often stereotyped as stupid or frightening, though in reality they are no less intelligent or well-mannered than other metatypes. They suffer from dis-proportionally high illiteracy and poverty rates due to prejudice.
Like Orks, many trolls have been driven to the fringes of society due to this intolerance, leading to extensive populations of SINless squatter trolls. On the flip side, many trolls find gainful employment for the very reasons that they are marginalised: working as manual labourers, bouncers, bodyguards and in other security positions.
