Body buggies
The small carts that are used by the Gatherers of the Usokufa to transport and keep fresh the bodies they collect and bring back to the Mortuary.
They range in size, with the most common being small two wheeled carts that are manually pushed by the Gatherer or perhaps a bodyservant under their control. Larger carts have four wheels, and will be drawn by Bodyservants built specifically as beasts of burden.
The cart is simple, with large metal wheels and a wide covered tray. The tray will often have a number of drawers which can be slid from the main body to gain access. Each drawer is large enough to hold two adult-sized corpses. The smaller carts may have only one or two drawers, but the larger ones may have multipe layers, the largest able to hold over 100 corpses.
Power Generation
The body buggy has a small internal store of cyrstaline uhd that popwers the klomerati network to keep the contents of the cart cool, and to provide assistance as the cart is moved. Should the crytaline uhd power source be depleted, the thermal and propulstion systems will fail. In the oppressive heat of Sunside, this will quickly be disasterous for the bodies being tranported and they will quickly spoil.
A typical cart will be able to hold enough crystaline uhd to run for a quarter-bell (a week) before needing to refuel.
Additional & auxiliary systems
Beneath the tray of the body buggy is located the environmental controls which keep any corposes cold enough to transport for up to a full moon before needing to be transfered to the Mortuary of the Gleaming City, or one of the waystations at the Stonesky Drainage. The tray of the cart is kept cool through the use of klomerati threaded coils, and the regular application of blood magics by the attending Gatherer, where they turn energy into water using the coils, and channel the flow of hot and cold air within the cart itself.
Should the Gatherer's minsitrations be interrupted, there is a high risk of the thermal controls failing which would spoil the bodies being transported.
