The Order of the Dragon's Head

"The Knight is sworn to Valor; Their heart knows only Virtue; Their Blade defends the helpless; Their Might upholds the weak, Their Word speaks only Truth, Their Wrath undoes the Wicked."

Structure

The Order of the Dragon's Head is a massive Knightly Order that can be best understood as five separate entities working with each other in service to the Oath Eternal all Knights swear upon, Khael'kar zhuragon, mel'athar thraegol, zul'ek vor'kan. The House of Camelot, The Round Table Knights, The Order of Grand Masters, The Blackstone Hammer Forge, and The Academy of Tarus Abid.
THE HOUSE OF CAMELOT is the noble house that rules the Order, composed of three bloodlines, the Ambrosius Clan, the Le Fay Dynasty, and Gens Artorius. They descend from Constantine Ambrosius III, the Conquering King, one of the first Kings of Camelot and the first Dragon Lord, as it was he who swore an ancient pact to Níðhöggr, the First Name of God and consumed the blood of the Dragons. While a Le Fay or Artorius can rule as Pendragon, only an Ambrosius can call upon the Blood of the Dragon and the ancient pact their forefather made. This is best illustrated by their exclusive authority over the Dragon Cultist, a fanatical and zealous cult of Dragon worshipers, who worship older than the Camelot itself. The cultist only exists to protect the remaining slumbering Dragons, advise the Pendragon on matters of religion, and serve their fallen God, Níðhöggr, imprisoned in the roots of Yggdrasil.
THE ROUND TABLE KNIGHTS are the close inner circle of advisors to the Pendragon and the highest officers within the entire Order. The Round Table numbers 1.500 and is composed of some of the most legendary figures from history such as The Demon Lancelot, Beholder of the Word Legendary, Billy the Hero, Beholder of the Word Legendary, and Maredudd the Unbreakable. The Round Table also extends membership to members of the Forge and the Academy, they enlist their own military unit known as the Round Table Sentinels.
THE ORDER OF THE GRAND MASTERS is an Order of Orders of Knights in service to the Dragon's Head. They serve as the primary military body for the Order of the Dragon's Head and number the most. Each Order is commanded by a Grand Master and, at a minimum, must possess seven fully operational Divisions, led by Division Commanders, with Captains under them. An Order must be entirely self-sufficient to a degree, possessing both Army and Naval forces as well as supplemental operations such as Medical, Technological, and Logistics. Each Divison within an Order is issued a designation that defines its primary objective and purpose. The NECKLACE designation was reserved for ceremonial directives such as knighting, training, and celebrating. OAK was for directives that stationed Divisions at fixed locations, such as Castle-Realms, Points of Intrest, and trade routes. VOYAGE was for Divisions that were dispatched actively by their Commander on any directive that was not NECKLACE or OAK. Ideally, 3% of your Order should be NECKLACE, 56% should be OAK and 41% should be VOYAGE.
THE BLACKSTONE HAMMER FORGE is a Forge on par with the Sons of Ivaldi, one created during the Great War in Heaven by Mountain King Forman Chaoschest and his 12 legendary children. The forge serves the House of Camelot and is a vital piece of the entire Order as they build everything from blasters, swords, ships, space stations, equipment, technology, cities, and infrastructure, if the Dragon's Head has it, the Forge made it. The Forge is based out of Håndverk, an artificial dimension created by King Forman's 12 Legendary children. It houses forges the sizes of universes and cities that dwarf stars. The Chaoschest Lineage has ruled for ages now and continues to push its craft further and further. The BHF produces 3 kinds of Smiths; the Blacksmith, the Shipwright, and the Draftsmen. The Shipwright Company produces all manner of land, sea, and space transports, subterranean, Starship, orbital platforms, stations, deep space outposts, and starship weaponry. The Draftsmen Company build cities, fortresses, Castle-Realms, and the like. And finally, the Blacksmith Company build anything that is not a vessel or a location, they make firearms, swords, armor, technology components, and equipment.
THE ACADEMY OF TARUS ABID is one of the most respected educational institutions in the cosmos, a college of Skálds and Mages and Historians. It was founded by the poet Ingrid Thibodeau who received a vision from the Citadel of the Watchers of Eternity, the beings who Observe Everything. The Academy primarily produces high-quality and well-trained Skálds to advise Lords, serve on councils, record Knightly deeds, tutor younglings, and provide tales of wonder and awe. Skálds produced from the Academy are also dispatched to Realms and planets controlled by the Order as educators, resulting in a generally high-level of education for citizens of the Realms.

Culture

The Oath Eternal

The Sacred Code of conduct by which all Knights of the Dragon's Order abide. It demands absolute adherence to its code and those who break it worthy of neither pity or mercy.
  • Ⅰ. Courage: More than bravado or bluster, a KNIGHT must have the courage of heart to fight battles that are difficult, tiresome, or unglamorous and to graciously accept the sacrifices involved.
  • Ⅱ. Strength: A KNIGHT has its own Gods-Given strengths. These must be developed daily, for a KNIGHT will gain more from working on their strengths than they will from trying to improve their weaknesses.
  • Ⅲ. Temperance: Everything is permissible, but not everything is beneficial. The temperate KNIGHT knows to abstain from some things and holds all things in moderation.
  • Ⅳ. Humility: Not every battle can be won. In losing battles, the failing KNIGHT learns humility and the practical skills needed to win subsequent fights to come. The humble KNIGHT knows when to retreat to be restored.
  • Ⅴ. Patience: A hurried mind is an addled mind; It cannot see clearly or hear correctly. The patient KNIGHT is willing to wait and make time his ally. There is a moment for action, and with a clear mind, that moment is clear.
  • Ⅵ. Mercy: Words and attitudes are dangerous weapons; a wound inflicted by an arrow heals, but a wound inflicted by harsh words settles in the heart. The merciful KNIGHT thus exercises compassion in his dealings with others.
  • Ⅶ. Generosity: A KNIGHT's treasure is not their own; it is theirs to grow and give away at the right time and in the right way; for a true KNIGHT earns all they can, saves all they can, and gives all they can. To a true KNIGHT, wealth is only a resource for which to do good.
  • Ⅷ. Nobility: Low-minded men are occupied solely with appearances, but the Nobel-minded KNIGHT upholds their convictions at all times, especially when no one else is watching.
  • Ⅸ. Hope: In the hour of adversity, the good KNIGHT is not without hope, for they know dark nights are followed by bright days; so times of bitter hardship are followed by seasons of sweet prosperity.

History

The Shattering of the Order
During the Great War in Heaven, when King Arthur Pendragon, the 5th Lord of Camelot was slain by his son Mordred, King of the Black Winter, King Gawain Pendragon, Lord of the Stars was officially named his successor, but in reality, the Order fell into a civil war. When Gawain Pendragon died, the facade faded and the Order was truly lost without leadership. The Round Table acted as an advisory council but the real power resided within the hands of the Grand Masters who each took to commanding their own Orders however they saw fit to survive the war. The Oath Eternal was violated and the Order's Good name was tarnished by infighting and Khaos.

Bound by Fire, Faith & Blood

The Dragon Cultists are the religious body of the Archdagon Knights. The Britannians are kings and warriors by nature, they believe a crown is warranted only with strength, but the Cult of the Dragons brought new Magic, innovation, and purpose to their kingdoms. The Dragon King adheres to the teachings and wisdom of the Arch Vicar in all matters.

The Dragon Lords Command the Dragon Knights

Knowledge through Struggle

The Archdragon Knights have long since studied the True Nature of all things, turning away from the dogmatic Holy Order and heedless Khaos Temple. They believe the truth lies somewhere in the middle, as does the Academy of Tarus Abid. These old scholars and sages have arcane knowledge and have been invaluable allies to the Round Table in their pursuit of correcting creation. The Academy also has a need for such vigorous warriors.

Sworn by a Sacred Oath

The Starguard and the Archdragon Knights have sustained a long and prosperous relationship. The Starguard found their roots back during the Great War in Heaven when they stood against the invading Celestials, constructing the Greater Defense of Zah, a massive wall to forbid Gods from fully manifesting in Midgard. They were aided by the Archdragon Knights who found kinship with such raw honor and grace.
The Knights of King Arthur's Round Table
Arthur le Fay Ambrosius, 3rd of the Lineage of Uther Ambrosius, Son of Flavius, and Ygraine Plouffe Le Fay, Daughter of Monique. Arthur came to command the Order of the Dragon's Head after the death of his nephew King Eliwlod and the start of the Great War in Heaven. He had no desire to rule and would have refused the throne had his older sister Princess Anna-Bray not surrendered her right to rule when she became a Bean Feasa Sister for The Yggtree Gardeners of the Golden Vow. Arthur left his wife MAB and their two sons to return to New Camelot and be named Arthur Pendragon of the Dragon's Head. He spear-headed the Order's entry into the Great War with the purpose of reclaiming the Seals and setting right the laws of reality once again, leading his own personal Order known as the Brotherhood of New Camelot. He did so by the aid of his Round Table Knights, numbering 17 in total.
  1. Sir Lancelot, the Right Hand of Arthur that Remains Visible
  2. Sir Gawain, the Left Hand of Arthur that Cannot be Seen
  3. Sir Hector, the Silver Sword of the Round Table
  4. Sir Galahad the Knight of the Grail
  5. Sir Geraint, the Champion of the Fair Lady Enide
  6. Sir Gareth, the Knight of the Whispered Lands
  7. Sir Gaheris, the Unwaivering One
  8. Sir Bedivere of the Broken Oath
  9. Sir Ector, the Knight with the Unbroken Faith
  10. Sir Kay the Knight of the Laughing Mouth
  11. Sir Bors the Younger
  12. Sir Lamorak, the Knight of the Unwritten Legends
  13. Sir Tristan the Fair
  14. Sir Percival a Knight of the Holy Grail
  15. Sir Agravain the Grim
  16. Sir Dagonet the Fool with a Million Talents
  17. Sir Mordred the Black
Also known as the Demon, Sir Lancelot was the 1st-born son of King Ban, of the Lineage of Constatine, and Queen Élaine, of the Davidic Lineage. He was raised by a Nymph, Viven, as a boy and only later in life was he returned to his parents. Sir Lancelot is Heir to the Kingdom of Benwick and commands the Knights of the White Hart who all bear ornamental horns on their helms to resemble their liege lord. Lancelot and his Knights led the 2nd, 3rd, 12th, 51st, 62nd, and 99th Crusades for the Order during the Great War and saw almost constant action, never far from their sister legion the Brotherhood of New Camelot or the Order of the Starside Outriders (Sir Gawain's Order). Lancelot himself was considered a brother of Arthur, and was in love with his Lady Wife, Queen Guinevere. Their love did not violate the tenets of The Holy Order and after Lancelot slew Mordred for the death of Arthur, he and Guinevere eloped to some quite corner of the cosmos.
Sir Gawain was a Prince of Avalon and Son of Morgause Le Fay of the Le Fay Dynasty and Lothric Goedwyn of the House of Rhygoed. Gawain has a storied life, expelled from Avalon by his father Lothric for challenging the Crowned-Heir in an attempt to start a succession war, before becoming a rogue Knight during the war and eventually a warlord over a small kingdom he laid claim to. Sir Lancelot and his Knights of the White Hart shattered Gawain's "empire" and Lancelot himself fostered the boy into a man capable of being knighted by Arthur. Gawain was incredibly powerful, questionably more so than Arthur, capable of facing entire star-fleets by himself. He commanded an order of ruffian knights he dubbed the Starside Outriders and undertook many of the tasks and missions that Arthur and Lancelot were unable to address immediately. After Mordred slew Arthur, Gawain and Lancelot pursued Mordred back to Erkwood where they killed him and bansihed his sons. With the death of Arthur and Lancelot's disappearance, Gawain was selected to succeed Arhtur and put the Order back together again.
King Ban of Benwick had a number of concubines, and many of them brought him children. But only one was legitimized after the kidnapping of baby Lancelot, Sir Hector de Maris. After Lancelot was returned, Hector was stripped of his titles and returned to rule over a small kingdom under Benwick until Lancelot became king and named Hector his Master of Arms. They maintained a great relationship as brothers, with Hector serving as the 1st Division Captain of the Knights of the White Hart. After the death of Mordred, Lancelot left his son Prince Lanzelel as heir to Benwick but the White Hart Knights were given to Hector as a final farewell gift. Hector bowed to his Lord Nephew and continued to command the White Hart Knights until his untimely Death near the end of the Great War.
Sir Galahad the Knight of the Grail is the Son of Lancelot, King of Benwick, and Élaine David, of the Davidic Lineage, raised by the Church of the Golden Vow as is custom with Benwick royalty. Galahad was the 1st being to defeat the Fisher Kings of Olde on his quest to claim the Holy Grail, granting him immense power and knighthood by King Arthur. Galahad did not command Knights but instead was raised to godhood and fathered an entirely new Pantheon with the Empyrean Olufemi. His kin were known as the New Gods and sided with the Order of the Dragons Head in all matters pertaining to the restoration of The Yggtree, no more and no less. Galahad was an immensely powerful individual, above both Arthur and Gawain, and equally feared by the Order's enemies.
The Kingdom of Dumnonia has been ruled by the Dymond Lineage since they usurped it from the Corneu Lineage ages past. Ser Geraint Dymond hails from such a kingdom as a Prince of one of the 7 Lesser Kingdoms, held in trust for his Lord Father, King Erbin. Geraint was promised to a noble lady, Umezaki Akirako, but he was summoned to fulfill an oath to his old friend Arthur and took up arms in the Great War, forsaking his Lesser Kingdom to his younger sister Princess Enrhydreg. During the 4th Crusade, Sir Geraint and his Evergreen Knights were stranded in a foreign land ruled by Earl Yder who usurped his uncle Yniol. Geraint challenges the usurper and defeats him in combat, restoring power to Earl Yniol who offers the hand of his only daughter, Princess Enide, in marriage. After serving many ages in the Great War, Geraint returned home as Earl-Consort, but is believed to have softened after years of ceaseless campaigning. This was unfortunately proven true when Yder returned to challenge Geraint and then kill him, humiliated Countess Enide, and put an end to their line. When Arthur heard of how his old friend was treated, he sacked the Kingdom, and slew Yder.
Prince Gareth of the Le Fay Dynasty & 17th Division Commander of the Starside Outriders
Sir Gareth, Son of Queen Morgause, Daughter of Ygraine, and King-Consort Lothric, Son of Cynfarch-Oer. Gareth is the younger brother of Gawain, and unlike his brother, Gareth obeyed his elders and earned the right to Squire for a legendary Knight such as Sir Lancelot, whereas Gawain sort of just happened upon it. They were trained and knighted together and were in constant competition, according to Gareth at least. He commanded the Truth Seekers Knights but was swiftly removed from the war when he fought the Empyrean Ellemieke and her Daemonik Legion at the Whispered Lands. Ellemieke had conjured a gate to the Emerald Maze and bansihed Gareth and his Knights for an extended period of time. When the Truth Seekers finally escaped, it was near the tail-end of Arthur's reign and Sir Gareth was faced with the Holy God Godefroy who broke his hold on the New York Cluster, forcing Gawain to save him, suffering more humiliation. After Gawain was named Pendragon, the Truth Seekers were absorbed into the Starside Outriders and Gareth was re-named the 17th Division Captain.
Sir Gaheris of the Le Fay Dynasty, Arthurian Round Table Knight
When his siblings ran off to war, Sir Gaheris remained in Avalon to protect his family and his people, earning him both recognition and Knighthood by Arthur himself when Gaheris repelled six different invading parties at once, referred to as the War of Six Sieges. The Crowned-Heir was his sister Princess Dioneta and she named him Commander of the Avalon Military, a position typically reserved for females. In addition to the military power of the Avalon Knights, He also commanded the Knightly Order known as 'Not But an Inch' who excelled at defensive military operations, often summoned to garrison key Realms and POIs during the War. In addition to his military power, he employed a network of spies, many of them internally, some within the Queensguard, to ensure the proper line of succession and suecity of the Avalon Kingdom.
Lord Bedivere of House Lyndsay, Arthurian Round Table Knight
Upon his name as Sir Bedivere Lyndsay, this Knight swore an oath to a maiden of a foreign Realm once, bringing great shame and humiliation upon the maiden when he failed to keep it. Bedivere wore his shame so that all may know his crime; Oathbreaker. He was stripped of his titles and power and served as a Slave Knight during the war until his unit was liberated by King Arthur. The Pendragon pulled Bedivere out of his self-pitty and restored his honors, and later named him a member of his Round table for his honor, integrity, and courage in the face of death. His Knights were fittingly named the Oath-Keepers and were present at Last Stand when Mordred slew Arthur. Bedivere and his Knights engaged him before Gawain and Lancelot arrived, but Mordred's Black Legion laid waste to them, and Bedivere was mortally wounded, only saved by Gawain's Starside Outriders. He was nursed back to health in Avalon but never awoke from his Black Winter Coma.
