Yggdrasil, the Tree of Worlds

"A Lesser Yggtree exists within all Realms, connecting them to the True Yggtree of the cosmos. It fosters life and cultivates the cosmos with rich beings. To severe the Yggtree of a Realm is to isolate it."

Geography

The Whole of Creation is an argument between Casualty and Regression, where what one may call 'Creation' is simply the inverse of Regression. The trick to it is to exist as long as you can before regressing back into the CRUCIBLE where all things are yoked together and some other new cosmos emerges from it. All of Creation revolves around the Singularity, the remains of the CRUCIBLE but also where it has begun to amass once again as the laws of causality are broken down over time. The Singularity is the domain of Yig, the First Scholar of the Formless Mother.
The Ancestorial Realms
The Ancestorial Realms are Realms that form the very basis of reality within Yggdrasil, they are among some of the oldest in creation and bear immense power. Travel to and from them is not simple and most Mortals will never visit them at all. All beings from these Realms are known as or can be referred to as "Old Ones".
  • Muspelheim, the Embrace of the Cosmic Flame
Muspelheim is the Ancestorial Realm of the idea of Fire and heat, where the Cosmic Flame resides. It is truly infinite and cannot be entered without protection from the Winds of Niflheim. It is notably home to the Fire Giants, the Ashen Ones, and Magma Worms.
  • Niflheim, the Lands of Winter
The land of infinite cold and ice is Niflheim and is the sister Realm to Muspelheim, it cannot reach without the flames of Muspelheim. It houses the Winds of Winter which slow down time to the point of a standstill within its borders and should the Winds be called upon, they can blow throughout the Realms and freeze over Yggdrasil itself, for a time. Niflheim contains a lesser Realm within itself, Helheim, the Kingdom of the Dead, ruled by Eternal Queen Hel, who oversees all SOULs that have perished from the Land of the Living. It is notably home to the Frost Giants, Wandering Souls, and Yeti-Folk.
  • Alfheim, the Peak of Radiance
The Light of Alfheim is the brightest thing in existence and originates from Alfheim, as the name implies. It is the idea of Light made manifest but only the Light Elves know all of its secrets. The Light flows through Yggdrasil and can be used with a Bifrost Crystal to facilitate starship travel between the Realms. The Light only travels through Yggdrasil, so any Realms not connected to Yggdrasil cannot be reached via this method. It is most notably home to the Light Elves, the Fae, and the High Born.
  • Svartálfheim, the Well of Darkness
Svartálfheim is the counter of Alfheim and is home to the idea of the Darkness and Shadows and all they entail. It is ruled by the Shadow King and is notably home to the Dark Elves and the Duskborn.
The Holy Realms
  • Asgard, Enclosure of the Aesir
The Aesir and Asgardians call Asgard their home, the former being deities and the latter being mortal descendants of said deities, though with some relation to the Vanir. They have been at war with Vanaheim since before anyone could remember.
  • Heaven, the White City
The Seat of Power for Al-Shinra, the God Almighty and the being who planted the seed of Yggdrasil and had the first argument with Yig, the First Scholar of the Formless Mother. Heaven is his Seat and the home of his children the Angels who govern the Realms and the Archons who created the Realms by His command. It is encased by the Gates of Totality, an infinite number of metaphysical barriers containing the lump sum of the Reasoning and Logic of the Cosmos, preventing any without True Understanding from entering.
  • The Domain of the Wishmasters
The Wishmasters are cosmic flops, anomalies possessing Acausal attributes made from Logic and Reason. They possess immense power approaching that of an infinite caliber, limited by the Law of Shooting Stars, which is why they are Wishmasters, they can only use their immense power for others. Unlike other concepts, the Wishmasters are finite, with only 500,000 in total existing in their Domain, and they are not Deathless, thus why reaching them is very difficult. Killing a Wishmaster is considered a Crime Against the Omniverse, you will be judged by The Three Who are One, and if found guilty imprisoned in The Ænd for a minimum of 500,000 Life-Long Sentences.
  • The Citadel of the Watchers of Eternity
Sitting up most high are the Watchers of Eternity, Pseudo-Omnisciencent beings with the capacity to know everything. The Watchers traverse the infinite cosmos cataloging and recording everything from the smallest of cellular processes to the most epic of Arguments. All are forever preserved within the Halls of the Citadel. The Watchers are aware of the cosmic wheel, that before this existence was another, and after this one ends, another will take its place. Thus they have resolved to record everything to pass on to the next generation of realities. The Citadel will be made to remain, even once absorbed back into the CRUCIBLE, and contain the lump sum of this flawed creation so the next cosmos may be one step closer to perfection.
  • Vanaheim, the Garden of the Vanir
Vanaheim is home to the Vanir, a tribe of celestials born from Archons who lay with Mortal Women. They possess WItchcraft and have been locked in a long and bloody war with the Aesir of Asgard.
The Mortals Realms
  • Midgard, the Land of Mortals
Midgard is the middle Realm where travel to any other Mortal Realm is possible, a unique trait to Midgard.
  • Niðavellir, the Birth of the Forge
  • Jötunheim, Mountain Tops of the Jötunnar
The Unholy Realms
  • The Underworld, Domain of the Fallen
The Underworld is the land of Demons ruled by the Great Dukes, who themselves are Fallen Angels, punished for rebellion ages ago. They were the first Demons and from them came the Demon race. It is the birthplace of the Nephilim race as well, fathered by Duke Azazel and Duchess Lilith.
  • The Ænd
The Ænd is the penultimate end of all things, what occurs right before we are all yoked back into the CRUCIBLE. It is a dead zone for all beings, ideas, and places that have begun to "circle the drain". It is often used as a punishment of sorts for cosmic beings who commit a Crime Against the Omniverse, as existence within the Ænd is extremely painful for them. The only beings here other than prisoners are the Ændermen who can often leak through the cracks into other Realms.

Localized Phenomena

  • Fimbulwinter (The Great Storm) & Eldsummur (The Great Renewal)
Once every 10,000 years, the Winds of Winter blow through the infinite Realms, bringing about an ice age known as Fimbulwinter. This age of ice blows from Niflheim, Land of Ice & Mist and is cold enough to slow down time and freeze the Bifröst, making travel between the Realms impossible without a Void Space Engine. Eldsummur is the inverse of Fimbulwinter when the Solar Winds of Muspelheim, Embrace of the Cosmic Flame blow through the cosmos to bring about an age of plenty and rebirth. After Fimbulwinter but before Eldsummur is a Season of Growing known as Nýjilíf which acts as the precursor to the age of abundance approaching. After Eldsummur but before Fimbulwinter is a Season of Decay known as Föllnir which acts as a precursor to the age of winter that is coming.

Fauna & Flora

The Therian Clans

The Theria are a race of sentient beings who emerged from the Yggtree eons ago before the first Empyreans were even born and before Mortals walked the Realms. There is a multitude of Therian Clans who, unlike Mortals and Gods who cower in Realms, live within the Yggtree itself. There exist many Therian Clans within the Yggtree, but the most prominent are;
  • The Skvirelkin: Under the command of the Immortal and Cunning Ratatoskr, Lord of Lies. This Clan is responsible for delivering messages between celestial, otherworldly, and divine beings and are known to embellish or fabricate details.
  • The Reinmen: Under the command of the Immortal and Honorable Dáinn, Dvalinn, Duneyrr, Durathrór, the Lords of Change. This Clan, composed of four brothers, is responsible for bringing about Fimbulwinter, Nýjilíf, Eldsummur, and Föllnir for the Yggtree.
  • The Wyrmkin: (formerly) under the Command of the Feriocious and Immortal Níðhöggr, the Malice Striker. This Clan is responsible for tending to and maintaining the infinite branches of the Yggtree.
  • The Ophidians: Under the Command of the Merciful and Immortal Jörmungandr, Serpent of the Worlds. This Clan is responsible for encircling each Realm within the Yggtree and is what sets the boundaries and borders between them, holding their tail in their mouth.
The Therian Clans are Cosmic Beings issued to their charge by direct command of The Yggtree. To assault or wound or murder a Therian is to commit a Crime Against the Multiverse, thusly earning yourself a spot in front of the Gilded Court, the highest office of judicial power within the Yggtree Multiverse. Should you be found guilty of the offense, you could potentially be imprisoned in the HYPERPRISON located in the 4th Dimension for any number of Life-Long Sentences.
