Midgard, the Home of Man
History
During the Primordial Wars, Ymir, the First of the Jötunnar, was slain and defeated by the triplets Óðinn, Vili, and Vé who used his corpse to create Midgard. Seeds from Yggdrasil would fall into Midgard and take root on debris and eventually sprout Minor Yggtrees which would grow into planets.

The brothers created the first race of Men in their image, a man and a woman, Askr and his wife Embla. Óðinn gave them a SOUL, Vili gave them wit (intelligence) and the senses, and Vé gave them countenance (appearance, facial expression), speech, hearing, and sight.
