Liched 'Em? Damn Near Killed 'Em! Report

General Summary

After leaving Edmon's Bend and heading north into the mountains, the party searched through the harsh, winter weather for the peaks Farron gul-Tinonubon had seen in his vision when he searched for their missing comrade, Rajira .   It felt like an eternity, but Farron gul-Tinonubon eventually recognized the mountain range and led them to the foot of the mountain where the vile wizard, Vandh, was believed to have holed up. After stashing their horses in a cave below the ruined keep that sat high up the cliff above them, they made their way up thanks to@ and Farron gul-Tinonubon used his magical senses and was almost overcome with the potency and darkness of the magic nearby, emanating from an upstairs room.   Searching for a way up took some time, and after an ill-fated start involving an arrow trap, they managed to navigate through the empty hallways of the long-abandoned keep. The second floor looked slightly more inhabited than the first, though it offered few answers about the man they sought.   They found Rajira in a cell in a strange anteroom stuffed full of awful creatures they identified as Necrocrafts, though she didn't respond to their calls or attempts to rouse her. Farron gul-Tinonubon identified her as locked in some form of magical sleep. Though other than that, she seemed to be in good enough shape.   The answer to Rajira 's magical slumber was not apparent, so the party moved onward, entering the wizard's laboratory. They learned far too late that instead of a mere wizard, they faced a lich--a beast of the foulest of dark magic.   By the skin of their teeth (and about fourteen gallons of water conjured by Rhialla), the party managed to run the lich off and kill his assistant, foiling whatever plans he had. At least for now. After dispatching the assistant, the party discovered a summoning circle with characters written in what looked like ancient draconic. Not even Farron gul-Tinonubon was able to identify exactly what the purpose of the circle was, though they all decided it was likely a better choice to destroy it.   After the party was clear, Farron destroyed the summoning circle, triggering an avalanche that buried the party (who awaited him in a cave below). They spent quite some time digging themselves out before trying to decide where to go next.   The party eventually settled on heading north, to the small town of Carysdur, home to Takeo's friend, Magnus Egge.   Bearing their sleeping friend, they arrived soon in far friendlier territory where Magnus Egge greeted them with surprised joy, glad to see the party again and especially glad to see Takeo with whom he had exchanged many letters. As the party enjoyed his hospitality, they learned that Urraim's army had marched on Siochain while they were handling affairs in Fomhar and had laid siege to the city.   With a renewed sense of urgency, the party rushed off toward Siochain after sending a message to Gilthraven Hall, asking Mother Holoui to tend to Rajira . Magnus Egge agreed to watch over her until the contingent from Gilthraven Hall arrived.   Upon arriving in the area outside Siochain, the party saw a vast and sprawling army threatening the city. They deliberated about what their next goal was and decided that their first move should be to destabilize the army, so and Farron gul-Tinonubon headed off the bridge that separated Siochain from Stagreach, from where the army was likely getting most of its supplies. They then destroyed it and wreaked some havoc on a supply train headed toward the army's camp.   While the pair were causing havoc, Takeo sneaked into the enemy camp and used the bag of endless rats to wreak havoc on their food stores and bedding.
