Edmon's Bend
Edmon’s bend was once a thriving town thanks to the local mine, which produced gold and jewels that were shipped to the three great cities for sale. Unfortunately, it was also rather lax in defenses since it is located at the end of a ravine deep in the mountains. None of the cities were close enough
to warrant mounting a defense against them, and no raiders were dumb enough to try and go after the town given its location.
What they didn’t count on were the goblins.
Two weeks ago, they poured out of cracks and crevices around the town and ransacked it. The local watch were woefully unprepared for that, and more than half the town’s population died and large percentages of the town were razed. The remaining townspeople live in the remaining buildings, several families sharing what was a single-family dwelling in most cases.
Outside of the few remaining homes, there is the Keen Owl Tavern, which more or less remained unscathed. It’s a large, stone building, and inside, the tavern is still rather intact. That said, the tavern’s fare is rather reduced given the circumstances. Getting anything in has been difficult, and
offered meals (which feed the bulk of the survivors).
Demographics
The remaining folk who live in the town are mostly a mix of humans and elves, though there are several dwarves. The children left are all under the age of twelve, and many of the remaining adults are women, though there are a few men. At this point the traveling merchants who have been trapped in the town are unwilling to leave for fear of being attacked on the road, so they have thrown their weight into taking care of the remaining townsfolk.
Government
At the moment, the only sense of "government" is Sadon Crewe who has emerged as the community leader during this trying time. This small settlement is a little too far from either Urraim or Fomhar for either to try and force them into paying taxes, and neither offers their protection for the small town either, meaning they are well and truly on their own.
Infrastructure
What's left of the town doesn't have much for infrastructure, and things are likely to become dire here when winter sets in. Of the remaining buildings, only the tavern, the Keen Owl Tavern remains without need of significant repair in order to be worth living in.
