Personal history
He has nearly been assassinated 8 times, catching the perpetrators five of those times. He tends to put himself and his family ahead of just about any other concern, so he is often approached by those scheming to gain more power, in the hopes that he will side with them and give them aid. Sometimes he does, sometimes he doesn't. He tends to put a lot of his income towards personal guards, in order to protect his rather large extended family. In the back of his mind is the worry that some malefactor will kill or kidnap members of his family. So far, they have been successful in stopping any of that kind of business. But he feels it's only a matter of time before someone is successful. What he doesn't know is exactly why. His house isn't in peril, and he is a relatively quiet member of the ruling council. The only motive he can think of is that maybe someone thinks his family is weak.

Accomplishments & Achievements
Being a family with a history with the Tondene Imperial Navy, he has the rank of Rear Admiral. In the past, he captained ships, and led them against pirate fleets. Once he averted war with the Firelands due to good use of diplomacy. He was awarded the Medallion of Service, the highest honor the Emperor can grant for his restraint.
Mental Trauma
Cetus has a large family. As such, he worries about them, since he is aware of how nobles act when they really want something, like lands or power. The fact that someone may kidnap or harm one of his family fills him with dread.
As a result, he has a lot of personal guards, stationed in every family dwelling. It's also the reason he has so many bannermen that he could call upon.

He likes gadgets, puzzles, mindgames, math, intrigue. Because of this, he is also good in court. He is usually at least one step ahead of anyone else, although he doesn't let on that he knows anything.

Undrite only met Cetus after he had purchased his rank. Cetus is always polite, although he thinks that purchased ranks are "lesser" noblilty. Cetus does realize that Undrite is capable, and competent. But their relationship is businesslike at best.
