Ceron's Cloak

Ceron's Cloak is a multicolored unisex cloak that greatly enchances the social attributes and force of presence of the wearer.
it was not as useful as one would think for all its magical power.
Social augmentation magic is most effective when the audience/target is not aware social augmentation magic is in play and they simply believe the person is that attractive, charming, inspiring, etc. Even if the Cloak of Ceron was a not famous heirloom magic item, it is obvious to even casual onlookers that it is a magic cloak.
The cloak is good for public flexing but it is not good for diplomacy or espionage because viewers have their guard up around a magically augmented wearer.

Mechanics & Inner Workings

The Cloak of Ceron makes the wear seem more attractive, majestic, compelling, and persuasive.
It won't stop a sword (the Cloak is never taken anywear dangerous), but the cloak is more durable than it looks, and is self cleaning and deflect nonlethal that would make the wearer look foolish. Once the cloak deflected a cup of wine thrown at the bearer.
It will adjust itself to the size and shape of the wearer and subtly change its coloration to flatter the look and sensibilities of its wearer whether the wearer is male or female, young or old.

History

House Kovenoth was founded by the dragon known as Kovenoth the Builder, named for a good reason. Kovenoth's human descendants continued their legacy of being crafters of magical items and beautiful architecture, but House Kovenoth has hit some hard times and now is swamped in debts though they possess dozens, if not hundreds of priceless heirloom magical items that they cannot sell. They cannot sell their magical items without violating a long-held taboo.

Ceron's Cloak was crafted by Lord Ceron ap Kovenoth over five hundred years ago and was a treasured heirloom of House Kovenoth. Valued even more because it emulates the multi-colored scale pattern of Kovenoth the Builder himself.
that eventually became part of the badge of office Count or Countess of Castlestone until the current ruler of Castlestone, Countess Erian ap Kovenoth III, sold the cloak to pay off her debts and have money left over to invest in her land's infrastructure.
Now the traditional Kovenoth relic is a trophy of the nouveau riche social schemer, Countess Eleri ap Manasch and this grates the traditionalist leaders of Kovenoth but has won Countess Erian some admirers who believe House Kovenoth needs forward thinking leaders.

Significance

The item is a treasured heirloom of House Kovenoth and created a scandal when the item was sold outside the family.
