Supernatural fires, black winged creatures made of each viewer's personal nightmares, shadows that tear from throats, and portals to hellish realms unknown--and many more terrible calamities--destroy Erinion
The outlying fortresses of the Bay, formerly kept by the Erinion Empire, are abandoned. Few survivors make it out, though, and the Elven population splits. Many survivors reject the sophist heights of Erinion and the arcane tools they grappled with, whilst also fearing the other worlds so called down, and turn wholly to the opposite. They find safe haven in the woods that are later known as Mei'laria, the Ancestor Grove. Those who do not flee to the small tribes throughout the Bay of Evandyr and assimilate into various cultures. They mourn the old times, yet many lose their original culture and in a generation or two, most see themselves as simply members of their new immigrated culture. These are the The City Elves.
