Wandering Children

These are those with which we fight, upon every road and within every cave, to keep Gol safe.

Much of this is knowledge recovered from diplomatic relations with The Second Jeriec Empire, and is therefore tainted by their bias and tendency for oral myths.   When the Children of Jeria fled the Reivantan armies, moving underground for safety, the others scattered across Evandyr. It is unknown if any of the Jerian ancestries remained above ground following 2330 BBE (-2330), but if so, they had all died out before the Avernal Kings returned to the surface.   These scattered Wandering Children are a wide range. They include Gnolls and Minotaurs that were great forces within the First Jeriec Empire (or rather, Empires, for it is said a new Emperor was crowned by assassination every few years). They also include the Tengu, and others that are not commonly thought of as malevolent.   The only thing in common that all these Wandering Children have is that they were all left scattered across Evandyr following the collapse of the First Jeriec Empire, and spread out in settlement, ideology, and faith following that. The majority of them still believe in the Olde Way, and follow it's tenants towards all sorts of crime, theft, murder, and the like. A young recruit like you might think that the Tengu are against-type and can be trusted, but I ask this: How many times have you encountered a Tengu merchant and come away with a good deal? How many times have you seen some Tengu children and found that you miscounted your coin purse that night?   Avernus teaches that victory and survival are the only true laws from above. It does not matter upon whose ashes and graves you climb to reach that prize, only that you are the sole victor and the blood of the others wets your blade as proof of your triumph.   IN AETERNUM. AD INFINITUM.
