The Planar Danse of Histories

Simon looked upon his canvas where already the Danse of Histories has begun to take shape, looking to his favorite, Sartova. As he twitches his fingers, hovering over the infinite seas of the Chronicle, masses of land began to morph and rise from the murky depths... The Story was beginning.

In the world of Sartova, all lies within the Storyteller's telling, he is an omnipotent god-thing that is separate from all the worlds. He is not a conscious being in the sense of deities in other settings, rather, the Storyteller is the canvas upon which all is told, he is a 10th dimensional being that does not desire, except to create and tell the Story.   As Simon the Storyteller crafts Sartova, The God's Chronicle, he utilizes the sixteen Themes. These are outer-dimensional ideas, the formless masses outside the world of these ideas in pure excess. Medicopia as overflowing nature. Limoseht as gnawing hunger. Typhen the primal terror. The Guardians aide Simon as he crafts Sartova. The Circle of the Heart teaches that the sixteen Guardians, despite some of their malevolent worshipers, protect Sartova from too much or too little of a Theme, and allow the world a correct amount. The Worship of the Themes follows that the collective unconscious will of each Theme, as an idea, is a Face. They worship these Faces and invoke their power.   The Planar Danse is the Dwarven description of the model of the convergence and divergence of the Themes, in which there is a massive "plane" (a two-dimensional flat plane, which is simply a mortal physical model) upon which the Sixteen Themes move about in random directions, occasionally coming into contact with the Story, at the center. This was partially thrown away when the old Jotun calendar was discovered, when they came above ground and combined their knowledge. It is now believed that the Themes and the Story all move in peculiar swirling patterns according to their personality across this plane, though this is just hyperbole, there is no physical or metaphysical plane, it is just a model, and all may intersect at times.   Each of these Themes have a day when they are Convergent, and a day when they are Divergent. (Also referred to as Coterminous/Separate, and Perigee/Apogee). On Convergence days, that Theme holds an unnatural sway, which can be anything from the Fôlifi's effect of worldwide regeneration and fertility, or the Medicopia's effect of the Summer Solstice. On Divergence days, that Theme's effect is so distant and barely present that what it governs is almost removed from the world, such as Stygia's effect of making fires almost impossible, storms weak if present at all, and winds gentle. All of these days are in the article of the Holidays of Sartova.       In the Planar Danse there is a powerful Arcane script named the Simonian Runes of the Script of Destiny, which runs through all the Themes and the Story, creating the definition of everything. It is has it's own page here.
