Sikeirdurum

"My Thanes, scapegoat not the Wyrmbone for the corruption within ourselves, whilst each of ye lies with another's spouse and kills pixies for sport. The Spirit of the woods treats us simply as the monsters we have become. Treat it as an enemy and that is the form it shall take."

--King Helsir the Good, at the end of Sikierdurum's Fey Slave Trade, in 259 AB.

A beautiful coastal forest extends up a ridge of mountains that scrape the skies, forming a wall across the length of Sikierdurum. It is here that the first peoples found their settlements, far from the terrors of Tarakon, the Azure Shroud, and the Age of Malevolent Motifs. It was still another millennia before they could find a permenant home, always fleeing another terrible foe. However, these Durumi slowly claimed the forests by burying their dead beneath saplings so that their souls may act as gifts to spirits of the Wyrmbone, an offering to the lands. It was through this that the druids of Sekeirdurum began, and found compromises between the two.   The Durumi in Sikeirdurum are more naturalistic than most, being the most connected to their ancient homelands. They began the practice of planting the Forests of Dead Men, as well as attempting to live peacefully with the Wyrmbone, in order to not call down the wrath of the spirit thereof, nor the Fey, Arboreals, or other worse creatures that live inside it.   In the mountains of Sikeirdurum there is a rare circle of druids, who appease the spirits of the land and help listen to their will, translating that to wisdom for the King. This allows the kings of Sikier to do as the woods silently desire, and avoid coming into conflict with them. These druids live in the forested mountaintops, in order to be closer to nature, and to the sky. There are rumors in the rest of the Durumi regions that these druids of the storm are the reasons for the hurricanes that wrack the northern shores. This has no proof, but the druids have never publicly claimed otherwise.

Find wisdom in the silence of the trees, they need not fight to get what they desire.
