Humans

Humans claim that they come from a time thousands of years ago, when all the Guardians had a convergence upon the same day, and created them with the potential to do anything and be anything... a beautiful thing. This may or may not be true, but these humans did spread throughout Evandyr creating civilizations at some point, the first of which was Reivanta, the progenitor city that grew larger than any following civilization of humanity. Reivanta was destroyed, and the humans who thrived throughout the Former Reivanta, now known as the Golryon Wastes, divided across Evandyr.

The Gol humans, of Gol in the Bay of Evandyr

Humanity came north to the Bay of Evandyr, and encountered their new protectors in the Ancient Elven Empire of Erinion. Concrete knowledge on human history is hard to come by, but it is believed that the majority of humans lived in a tribal nature through the Silver Plains, and Orion's Fields, living in constant struggle against the land, though the powerful Magistrates of Erinion protected their vassals from afar. Upon The Isles of Kentarun, humanity formed a great dynastic civilization, that later went to war with Erinion. Both sides seemed to have lost, as both were utterly destroyed.   Following this, modern times begin, with the Silent Times, into the Dark Times, then the Simonian Age. Golryon was founded in 348 AB by Golfir Verentala, the first Duke, and the Bay has thrived ever since.   Humans have an affinity for sorcery having been the ones to find the first charms, runes, and scrolls, beneath The Bay. This led the humanity city-states Dinlirys and Golryen to form an uneasy truce, guarding their magical items that allowed magic. There is not a ruler without luck charms, charisma charms, leadership charms, tattoos for safety spells, charm spells. They guard the borders fiercely and will not allow any charms or Inks to leave their lands. They manned the ancient fortifications surrounding the Bay and it's Shores, guarding from any threats that could steal their power. Dwarven nobility is also allowed the same arcane luxuries, being of equal status in Golryon.   Sorcerers will get tattoos using special inks found in Darkwater in The Bay, which is in a complete monopoly by the City-States. Charm-holders are allowed to leave the City-states with special permisison, frequently given to nobles or others, and Sorcerers are under strict contract by the state, as they are viewed as those with the power and discipline and strength of will to control the wily magicks of the Ink, and therefore the most dangerous.   The City-States are Magocracies, and the ruling families are those who discovered magicks long ago, creating a sort of herditary governments, duke to eldest child.

The Stavs, of the Stavik Highlands

From far around the coasts of Evandyr came traders and sailors through the Age of Malevolent Motifs. The oceans were the safest place in the world through that time, as extra-dimensional terrors would prowl day and night across Sartova. These people, from the Lightless Atoll and Blackwich Reef, settled over time from the Hag's Haunt to the modern Highlands, as that Age ended. They still have much of their heritage, but have melded extensively with the common human culture, even merging the two religions due to many similarities.   These humans are pale of skin, blonde or brown hair, and have more northern accents. In 370 AB, the Luna Balcan was retaken from undead and founded, forming the modern peoples of the Highlands. To be a Stav is to live fully, love passionately, believe fully, and fight fiercely. The Highlands is a land of strong colors and strong people, to be any less would be to die to the demons, wendigos, outer dimensional beasts, or the like that prowl the night.

The Reivantans, of the Bronze Sea and the Forgotten Kingdoms

However, not all of humanity came northward to Gol. Civilization after Reivanta in The Bronze Sea came and went. During the Age of Erinion in the north, there was the Forgotton Period in the South, in roughly the same period of time. Innumerable kingdoms and civilizations rose and fell in the desert, none of them standing the test of time, nor living up to the greatness of the first human civilization.   Nonetheless, after a millenia and a half, Tharsis was founded by a prophet that brought his people from the Hunter's Circle to the East, finding the massive Tharsisian Oasis, which connected to the sea.

Other Peoples

It is believed that before Reivanta, and after Reivanta's fall, humanity spread elsewhere. It is statistically improbable that they did not end up elsewhere upon Evandyr in the four millennia humanity has been upon Sartova. Nonetheless, the North and the South do not know of any other peoples, for their exploratory efforts have barely began to bear fruit. It is the great sailors of Jeria that have been as far south as The Lost World, and as far west as the edges of Tarakon, however, those are generally secrets of The Second Jeriec Empire.
