Structure

King

The first Halvic king was Ingolf Halvin, a chieftan of the Halviner clan who spread eastward, absorbing smaller tribes before declaring themselves as a separate power entirely in 1102. Over the following few centuries, the clan's structure fortified into a more traditional feudal system. The current ruler is Friþjof Halsen.

Jarls

Heimþegar

Translating roughly into Durranian as "house-receiver" (one who has been given a house by another, generally a lord), a heimthegi is a position within the Halvic social structure roughly similar to that of a knight in more southern portions of Eletheros. While still beneath the jarl to whom they swear fealty, heimthegar still hold privileged social positions above the average peasant and, in the service of larger and wealthier jarls, will often possess estates and collect taxes of their own. In smaller settlements, heimthegar will generally live in the estates of the jarl they serve.
