Listyr

Listyr (Liostír) is a state in northern Eletheros located on the western edge of the Evergreen Ocean and northern shores of Ruby Lake. With a landscape comprised of dense forests, wet marshes, and vast swathes of empty, rolling hills, it is a nation which sees few outsides enter its borders for the purposes of trade and is often considered as dangerous to travel as it is beautiful to behold. Listyr was considered unclaimed tribal territory until the year 1462 wherein an alliance between the king of Farkirk was brokered with the recently-formed Listyrian Order in Belbrack, establishing the territory as a national hold. The treaty was first proposed by the Order itself, offering what amounted to a military alliance with the larger nation (on the condition that no clan of Listyrian blood would wage war with nations outside its own border) in exchange for a more constant flow of arms and armor into Listyrian hands via trade and military supplies both.

Listyrian Order

The Listyrian Order (Dáil Liostír) was the title given as representative of the territory's 'official' governance on the national level. Originally intended to allow greater diplomacy between the five largest clan families of Listyr, the Order is comprised of representatives from each – most often the clan leader, though occasionally a trusted speaker or family member – who may discuss issues facing their peoples either directly or via a neutral third party (depending on animosity between the families) brought from an unrelated clan (or else provided by Farkirk, in the modern era) without resorting to challenges or bloodshed.
