Glowsteal

Glowstealing is the act of directly absorbing another Luminous creature's Glow. Unlike absorbing Glow from the sky, a rock, or a plant, stealing Glow from a conscious being takes much more effort and skill.

Effect

The thief must make physical contact with their target in order to steal Glow. They must then try to absorb Glow from the contact point, with enough force and speed to overpower the target's own Glowbiology.

It is extremely difficult to accomplish on an aware target. The element of surprise is a primary component of success.

It is easier if the caster touches one of the target's focus points. The Celestial Nexus is more primed to release Glow at these locations. Focus points are not always easy to reach, however. The best focus points of humans and lilthians are the hands, which can be easily defended.

Side/Secondary Effects

The spell can stun the target if performed fast enough. Sometimes the force of the spell can cause the target to faint. It can also temporarily weaken their Glow abilities.

Trying to steal too much Glow at once could also stun the caster. It could even overload their own Celestial Nexus and cause minor Bloodburn.

Source

Stealing Glow requires extensive exercising of the Nexus and Celestial Core. The caster must have precise control over their skills and have good awareness of their Glow capacity at any given time.

Having a strong Celestial Core and Nexus will ensure that they are strong enough to overpower the Glowbiology of their targets. Being physically strong and healthy also helps.

Nobody learns how to steal Glow on accident. It is a skill that must be practiced in order to be useful.
