Lyldoresa (LIL DOOR ESS AH)
Lyldoresa is the provincial capital of the Rosvolia Province of the Republic of Himse and other than being the most northwestern projection of the elven republic's power is generally considered a backwater and an undesirable posting for any Himsean governor, something that Administrator Leofina is completely aware of. While a sleepy province by the standards of the capital, Lyldoresa's nature as a cultural crossroads for the empire, including a population with ties to the hated Yvalian Empire means the local government typically has their hands full, a situation which always profits Adventurers.
Demographics
Lyldoresa is fairly representative of urban living on Sanzeia, hosting a wide variety of races many of which cluster into their own neighborhoods or wards within the city's borders. Being the administrative head of the the local province of the Republic, the political and economic upper classes are largely of Sun Elf decent. Due to is distance from the elven capital in Enorei and its proximity to human and dwarven population centers the number of half-elves in this city is above average. Unusually, the city does boast a small Moon Elf population.
Industry & Trade
On a grandscale, Lyldoresa's true value to the Republic, is that it serves as the entry point for trade between the Republic and the human and dwarven kingdoms to the west. These goods, while considered inferior by the standards of the elven capital, nonetheless find wide use by the republic's non-elven population.
Districts
Shadesward
Perhaps unusually for a Himsean city, Lyldoresa's Shadesward northern district is home to a largely Moon elven population. Hailing originally from the nearby Szobeth these Moon elves have come to the local capital in an attempt to integrate themselves into Himsean culture and politics. The results are mixed, as many, including the townguard, consider the Shadesward a den of tramps and thieves. While some of the inhabitants are certainly that, many are Moon elves attempting to function in a society that has made their people the traditional villain for ages.Castle Ward
The Sun elf administrators of Lyldoresa typically do so from the fortified citadel of the Castle Ward. This building was first established bit of Hismean rule in the region (though some of the local settlements are considerably older) and while not grand in the larger scope of things is none the less a gleaming citadel projecting Hismean power, wealth, and aesthetics. The local Administrator has long hosted a tradition of staging elaborate balls for well-to-do citizens and visitors.Images
