Clearian Holy Order (CLEAR-EE-AH)
The largest and most populous of the kingdoms of man, Clearia was originally a province of Elow. It split from the crown in 736 DR when the Elowean king attempted to suppress the power of the Church of the Allfather. The resulting rebellion was long and bloody, but the Paladins of the Order prevailed and with their independence secured, over the coming centuries, would set out on numerous crusades to bring their faith to the rest of the world.
Public Agenda
To bring order and the light of Ulmark to the known world, for it is the only protection from the corruption of the darkness.
Demography and Population
The priesthood and ruling class of Cleria are humans. While all races are legally equal, the other races, by their association with gods other than Ulmark, tends to give them a lower status in the eyes of the Clearian people. And worship of the Betrayer God or the Forgotten One is strictly repressed.
Religion
Within Clearia, worship of Ulmark, is supreme, the other gods, at least those of the Thirteen, are largely tolerated with only worship of the Betrayer and the Forgotten One being suppressed. It would not be wise for a visitor to proclaim a faith that does not place Ulmark supreme.
Foreign Relations
Cleria began when the priest of Elow fearing persecution, established their own nation. A long war of succession was fought, but relations have long ago normalized. Politically Clearia regards Elow as an important neighbor, though does disagree with its lack of faith.
To the west and east, Clearia seeks to actively expand the word of Ulmark to both Bhakh League and Noria, regarding them as wayward states that should recognize the error of their ways.
Tenets of Faith
The Clearian Holy Order venerates Ulmark, and adheres to a strict faith-based set of laws. Their primary goal is to protect the order of the world, and through that defeat the forces of the Chaos and the fallen gods.
Priesthood
The priests of Ulmark hold both the highest political and religious positions within Clearia. They are governed and policed by their own holy laws and are generally seen to exist on a separate level from the common people.
