Shade Lands

The Shade Lands are the floodplains and waterlogged forests were the waters of the destroyed mountain by Akatorvak the Red. It currently is ruled by Shade Barons and is the home of those that didn't follow Badariel and weathered the flooding themselves. It is the melting pot of the setting, muddy and watery and full of all races. Also, unimportant, the war between the Rizon Dominion and the Ulasian Empire, has been waged in the forests, hills and swamps of the Shade Lands

Geography

The Shade Lands earns its name from the near consistent rainfall and cloud cover that leaves the land gray, soaked and dour. Cities are forced to be built upon large foundations, sometimes allowing for rivers to pass through the streets. Other times, villages can be found built on stilts to avoid the rising water levels.
To the south, there is some reprieve as you can find stony cliffs upon which trade cities have been built.
