Gellan Primewater

Councilor Elect (a.k.a. Father Feast, The Pocket Pirate, Gellan the Great, Goodman Profitwater)

Overview

A well-spoken, fancy-dressing gentleman with the cunning of a fox, Gellan hardly seems like he belongs in Saltmarsh. In fact, his family's rise to power, prominence, and prosperity is a result seemingly fabricated out of miraculous means by Gellan's own hand.

Personality

Gellan loves the finer things in life. A foppish dandy and whimsical gentleman with a hard edge, he is eternally mirthful, even in the thick of his business dealings.

Far from humble, Primewater derives great pleasure from showing of his wealth and delighting Saltmarsh with the weekly festivals that he hosts.

Beliefs

Gellan works hard to maintain his undisputed position in business and his good standing amongst his fellow Salts. He prizes his reputation among the people of Saltmarsh above almost all else.

Success and renown are the pillars of Gellan's life.

Endeavors

His ancestors, the Premwanns, first came to Salinmoor as stowaways generations ago. Amounting to little as a family, everything changed in the low summer of 526 CY when a twenty year old Gellan arrived in Saltmarsh

with his own ship, a full hold, and a new surname: Primewater.

From there, Gellan's rise was meteoric. Today, through his many different businesses, he has become the most prominent merchant in town, long eclipsing his distant peers the Owelands and Solmors.

He has unabashedly used his position as a councilor to help his businesses while constantly currying favor with his fellow Marshers, but never at the direct expense of his fellow Town Council members. His popularity is second only to Eda Oweland, whom he usually throws his votes in council affairs behind.
