Valinarna's Spirit Pendant

It is an old golden pendant originally belonging to Valinarna {Ruiskauno}, but then was left in the possession of the feared criminal organisation, the Third Cohort when he fled the organisation. When Valinarna went into hiding from them, the artifact lead them back to them, and ultimately enabled their leader Run the Slitter to track and murder him.

Description

It is a small golden pendant with a portrait of a human carved on it, supposedly the same ancestor who's soul has been tied into the item.

Mechanics & Inner Workings

The item is connected to the Táldaran (ancestor spirit) of Valinarna, because the ancestor used to own the item before. The item mediates the communication with the spirit. The spirit is serching for it's descendant, which enables the Third Cohort to track him.

Binding souls

The souls of decased people can be bound to various items. Examples of these include Incantation bottles. They can be bound either voluntarily, making them able to be transferred by the spirit's descendants, on against the spirit's will. Binding a spirit against it's will will make it angry. Best materials for binding spirits are metal such as gold or silver. If a spirit is not bound to an item it can start to experience Fading.
