Physical Description
General Physical Condition
Musashi maintains a high level of fitness focused on fast reflexes, high flexibility/agility, and the strength to execute jujutsu throws. His lean musculature reflects this, though is rarely displayed as he dresses conservatively. He is considered by most to be highly attractive and has a strict personal care routine.
Facial Features
Musashi is ethnic Japanese and has a typical East Asian phenotypic appearance. This includes epicanthus tarsalis and low profile brow ridge, cheek bones and chin. He also has sparse, slow-growing facial hair, especially while still in his teens. His nose has a distinguished shape. He has a good skin care routine, resulting in a smooth, rarely blemished completion. As the time he regularly spends outside is in the early morning, he remains exceptionally pale. He wears his hair long enough to cover his ears, but it doesn't usually fall into his face.
Beginning at age 12, Musashi developed meticulous grooming habits. He typically showers and shaves in the morning, after his exercise routine. Usually, he will shower again in the evening either after work or before bed. In addition to careful daily shaving and use of moisturizer, he also tweezes his eyebrows to maintain a kempt shape and treats any blemishes as pre-emptively as possible. He also ensures his hair is healthy as well managed. At times, these habits have relaxed but Musashi generally maintains a highly kempt, clean-shaven appearance.

Identifying Characteristics
Musashi's back, excluding the top inch or so of his shoulders and a wider/deeper dip at the back of his neck and including the furrow between his buttocks, is fully tattooed. The back of his left shoulder bears a traditional Japanese dragon head in profile, facing left. Its tufted whiskers extend onto the back of Musashi's arm. The scales are royal purple and the mane and eyes are golden yellow. The rest of his back is tattooed with grotesquely muscular wings that include large claws. These have shark-like scales and have highly detailed shading. The wings are grey and purple-grey. blending into the dragon head.
The undersides of Musashi's wrists have about three inches of black ink forming negative space sakura flowers. The left side was designed to cover scarring and the right side mirrors the left. Additional scars were accumulated on the left side, carefully tracing the outlines and other details of the flowers, which makes them more textured.
Along the outside of Musashi's left leg, there is a blue-teal ink kirin. It appears to be galloping down his leg with the tail mid-swish on his upper thigh and the head tossing over his calf. This kirin has two, branched horns like deer antlers. It is scaled and has tufts of spiky/frost-like hair.

After enduring the explosion at Toda Security Services, Musashi's body is severely scarred. About two thirds of the front of his abdomen is distorted either by the original burn scars or meshed skin grafts. The area just below his heart has a large, pitted scar from shrapnel that nearly killed him. There is a slightly sunken, diamond-pattern scar on the back of his right forearm from a meshed skin graft. A large area over his left hip and thigh suffered shrapnel and burns, also requiring meshed grafts. His right thigh was used as the donor site for the grafts; it is paler than the surrounding skin but otherwise healed cleanly. The skin grafts have poor enervation and few functioning sebaceous glands, thus need to be regularly treated with lotion to prevent chaffing, cracking and other dryness problems. Musashi's ability to regular his body temperature is a little impaired due to the reduction in his ability to sweat.
His left arm was shattered, mended by an exterior fixation device, which left many circular marks where the pins stuck through his flesh. This arm also suffered burn distortions from about mid-wrist to mid-upper arm. He suffered intense nerve pain, which was solved by cutting the radial nerve at a point mid-forearm. This, in turn, means his fourth and fifth digits cannot be extended except by external manipulation. He can form a fist, but then has to use his other hand to re-extend those two fingers. They rest in a claw-like posture. He does not have sensation in his fifth or the outside half of his fourth digit. Because of this, Musashi tends to keep his left hand in his pocket or his left arm at his side, almost exclusively gesturing with his right hand.
Also as a result of the explosion, Musashi has acquired astigmatism and some tiny blind spots in both eyes. With corrective lenses, his vision is functionally normal. Without corrective lenses, he is functionally myopic and especially has trouble reading or seeing other fine details. Sometimes even with corrective lenses, he can miss a detail he only glanced at. Apparel & Accessories
Musashi wears dress casual/neutral styles and favors dark colors, attempting to avoid attracting attention. Often, his clothing is of high quality and non-restrictive, allowing him freedom of movement. However, while still attending school, he wears old and worn items in that setting to fit the narrative of one living with limited means.
If wearing a shirt without buttoned or fitted cuffs, Musashi wears black wrist sleeves. These loop over his thumb, covering the lower portion of his hand, and have a tight fit to about mid-forearm. They are necessary to hide the tattoos on the undersides of his wrists, which he got when he was 13. Until around 16, Musashi did not wear them at Roar or among Shiryuu. However, when he began cutting himself again, he started wearing them all the time to hide the bandages or healing scratches. This habit remained even after he stopped.
It is also necessary to hide his back tattoo. To be extra cautious, Musashi wears black or navy mock turtleneck athletic shirts beneath his t-shirt in P.E. class (tight-fitting clothing is not permitted) and favors these shirts over t-shirts to exercise in public, such as running in his neighborhood. Because Pine Ridge's uniform is a white button-up shirt, Musashi never takes off the navy gokuran jacket, even when it's hot. The black or navy undershirt he wears is against the uniform code. When he began the kirin tattoo on his leg, in 2018, he stopped wearing shorts. Although tattoos are no longer exclusive to criminal organizations, it is still attention Musashi does not want to invite.
When at Roar, until his promotion, Musashi always wore the staff uniform regardless of how much time he might spend actually working. This uniform includes black pants and a black collared shirt with buttoned cuffs with a grey vest. He often wears fingerless gloves when at Roar or when doing other tasks for Shiryuu. These gloves protect his hands should he need to disarm someone, use a weapon, or strike unarmed without sacrificing dexterity. He may be wearing a gun holster on his belt, tucked into the small of his back and under the uniform's vest or a sweater. Although drawing from this position is harder, this keeps the weapon hidden until it is needed. He also has a belt holster for a butterfly knife, which he may carry in addition to or, if the potential to be caught with an illegal firearm is high, instead of the gun. Butterfly knives are not illegal but are suspicious to carry in an urban setting. If there is any reason for his person to be searched, he may carry a box cutter in his pocket instead.
To stay warm in Saharin's cold winters, Musashi wears wool sweaters, which may be pull-over or zip up. He will also wear athletic shirts as undershirts instead of the tight black t-shirts he usually wears. He wears athletic pants to exercise and pajama pants to sleep. The rest of the time, excepting the school uniform, he favors black pants made by a yoga clothing company. These have a fly and belt loops, appearing like dress casual slacks (without a crease).

When Musashi takes on the role of Mr. Shiryuu, he wears black suits with a standing collar. He does not wear ties. These are custom made with quality wool and other details that are unassuming from a distance but signal wealth and class up close. He wears silk shirts whose collars and cuffs show slightly and may have a matching handkerchief in the pocket. These shirts may be plain or have a same color pattern: black, white, silver-grey, cobalt blue, crimson.

When Musashi travels to Eimei-shi and to the U.S., he merged his and Erik's styles to create a more 'normal' appearance. He still favors dark colors and unrestrictive clothing, but in the U.S., where East Asian is a minority, he tried very hard not to be memorable in any other way. This stays with him for the rest of his life.

Religious Views
Musashi was raised to honor Shinto traditions, flavored with Japanese Buddhism. While his family participated in and observed Shinto rituals, holidays and other practices, Shinto beliefs were taught as a shared mythology not as facts. During early adolescence, Musashi seriously considered ideas like karma, reincarnation, tsumi and harae. He rejected belief in general but continued to honor some Shinto traditions. However, he would consider himself agnostic rather than atheist as he would never assume he had the cosmic understanding to be certain of the lack of any or all divinity.

Musashi speaks urban Saharinese Japanese with moderate use of age appropriate slang. He grew up in an upper class and well-educated household and attended an elite private school through age 11. He was also encourage to speak well and thoughtfully by his adoptive family. Thus, he does not use vulgar language and uses less new/youth culture slang than his peers. Wealth & Financial state
Musashi has very little personal wealth. While the favorite son of Yashagoro, many of his expenses such as his rent or cellular bill were paid directly by Yashagoro and he received many items such as his motorcycle and clothing as gifts. He rarely asked for things and lived day-to-day on his bar back salary. After Yashagoro's death, he was promoted and received a bigger paycheck but did not inherit anything. His 'share' went to Shota Yamata, whose name he uses if he needs to purchase something outside the finances in his name.
