Umberlee is a deity that is revered out of fear, rather than worshipped out of love, which is why she is also known as the The Bitch Queen and believed to be a cruel and cold deity.

Umberlee is more revered out of fear than worshipped, this reverence can be found within the Free States, Republic of Valantia, and despite it being outlawed within Corth in Kingdom of Thaxnoria.

Tenets of the Faith

Umberlee is worshipped as a deity of the bitter storms and seas, followers believe that the Bitch Queen is a cruel and cold deity. They believe that when she is angered the skies and sea rip lives away from anyone foolish enough to try and endure them, and when she is satiated she allows mortals to take from her waters. Few truly worship the Bitch Queen, she receives sacrifices and worship from those who fear her wrath.

Temples

There are remarkably few temples to the Bitch Queen as she is not much loved. Most of the temples exist within Valantia as their nation depends on sea travel. They are places of harsh luxury, where sacrifices and offerings are paid to the clergy in return for their blessings on voyages.

Priests

The few priests that exist of Umberlee oft wear salt stained robes and armour, and choose to arm themselves. Most of them travel around helping to make sacrifices to the Bitch Queen, but others embrace the nature of their deity and spread her misery and death.

Depictions of the Deity

The Bitch Queen is often depicted as an older slim female Human, with jet black hair and a dress the color of an ocean swell. She is also commonly depicted wielding a trident.

The Wave Watchers are a loose organisation primarily made up of those who worship the deity Umberlee . The Wave Watchers, as their name suggests, are concerned with the oceans and waterways of Runetalras; they operate lighthouses, bless ships, work against the threats of the deep ocean, and can be hired to travel on ships to help protect them.
