The Prime Material Plane
The Prime Material Plane lies at the intersection of many other planes, and it is known by terms both simple and complex across the infinite worlds that drift in its endless expanse.
To understand the Prime plane is to understand that many different laws and realities have created a stable balance of forces and energies that are in fact native to other planes. As Time wends its way through the Prime plane, inert Void surges forth like an alien tide and Astral energies course across the world as fast as thought. As Elemental energies form the foundations of countless planets, lines of Ley power spark across it to reshape it, and sentient Souls flicker and fade as they pass through it. Ethereal patterns grow and flourish with fecundity and Spiritual manifestations propagate at every turn, provoking Dream and being provoked in return.
To the common student, the Prime plane is governed by a set of laws referred to as physics. To a patron of the Society of the Primal Expression, those same laws are the result of many different layers, which can be altered by changing the concentration of planar forces. This underpins both how the world functions when acted upon internally, and defines the fundamental laws of magic as we know them.
