Glosa (Glo-sa)
Structure
Glosa is the homelands of the Gathering of Araoni, and is said to be where the Goddess laid to rest after creation. The state is full of monks of the Gathering that have travelled or been raised in the training of the religion, who come to dedicate their lives to Araoni and her tenets. Monkhood is open to all that wish to join, but requires rigorous testing and lawfulness once a member of the organisaion.
Glosa is run by the Earthern Holy Order, the highest order of the Gathering, under the current leadership of the Matriarch, Safiye Ata, although she is mostly responsible for the religious affairs of the Gathering as a whole, and many others in the order have more administratorial roles designed to ensure the safe running of the great state.
There are a few others living in small, poorer communities in Glosa, how are under the protectorate of the Gathering. These people have a bad reputation in the larger cities.
Culture
Glosa lives under the ruling of the Gathering of Araoni, and all of its culture is based in the religion. The large number of monks in the state follow strict daily routines which include prayer sessions, reflection, community work, study, and earth nurturing. The Festivals of the Gods are magnificant celebrations in Glosa, and many pilgrims travel to coincide with these days.
Much of the architecture in Glosa are religious buildings, monuments, and shrines. Pilgrims will travel throughout the state in order to find these holy relics.
Public Agenda
The promotion of piety and learning is the code of the Earthern Holy Order. Glosa is seen as a sanctuary of holiness for the Gathering of Araoni, and much is done to continue this reputation. It is of vital importance for the Glosians that this prestige is upheld.
