Longwang Character in Rolara | World Anvil

Longwang

The Dragon King Longwang (a.k.a. Bahamut, Ryujin, Munmu)

In the mythical realm of Rolara, the Dragon King of the Eastern Ocean, known as Longwang, reigns supreme. A name used for Bahamut in the Mythic Land of Jiao, Longwang's presence resonates with majesty, power, and cosmic harmony. His platinum scales shimmer with an ethereal glow, impervious to harm, reflecting purity and strength. His breath, a force of creation and destruction, weaves miracles and unleashes wrath with equal ease.   Longwang's control over nature is both awe-inspiring and terrifying. Storms, tsunamis, earthquakes, and volcanic eruptions dance to his will, a testament to his easily provoked wrath. Yet, beneath this fearsome exterior lies a benevolent heart that favors the brave and kind, offering protection to those who embody virtues he holds dear.   As the revered elder of the Five Dragon Gods, Longwang's wisdom spans the ages. His role in the miracle of creation and his status as the highest-ranking dragon deity make him a central figure in the cosmic order. He is not merely a force of power but a symbol of balance, a protector, and a guide.   In the world of Rolara, Longwang's presence is a living embodiment of cosmic truths, a dance of creation and destruction, fear and favor, power and protection. He stands as a beacon of righteousness, a living symbol of the eternal quest for justice, balance, and the inherent nobility of the struggle for good. Whether as a ruler of dragons, a Celestial deity, or a humble protector of the virtuous, Longwang's essence transcends mere existence, illuminating the intricate tapestry of a world where dragons are revered, feared, and loved.

Physical Description

General Physical Condition

An immense Dragon that can shapeshift into forms of near unlimited size, this deity doesn't leave his home due to his responsibilities to The Celestial Administration. When he sends an aspect of himself to the Material Plane in the form of a mortal, he prefers to use the form of a kindly old man. Occasionally, one of his sons (a gold dragon) will accompany him in the form of a yellow bird.
