Elion

Elion Moondreamer (a.k.a. The Fallen Scion)

Elion Moondreamer stood alone in the dim chamber at the pinnacle of his hidden tower, staring at the Moonblade Lysaerith as it floated in its magical stasis. "Blade of the Celestial Tempest," he sneered, his voice dripping with irony. "More like Blade of the Celestial Disappointment."   The sword, once a radiant symbol of celestial power and wisdom, now seemed as dormant and lifeless as Elion's own spirit. It was a relic, a reminder of a lineage he could never live up to. "Genro Moondreamer, the illustrious founder," he muttered, "left me with nothing but unattainable expectations."   His pixie servants fluttered nearby, their shimmering wings dimming as they sensed his bitterness. Bound by ancient pacts, they were prisoners to his whims, much like he was a prisoner to his own legacy. "Go away," he snapped, waving them off. "Your sorrow is as useless as this blade."   Elion turned away from Lysaerith, his eyes falling on the ancient tomes that lined the walls of his chamber. Books filled with wisdom and Magic, none of which had helped him awaken the blade or find a shred of his ancestor's greatness. "Wisdom," he scoffed. "What good is wisdom when it can't even light up a sword?"   As he descended the tower's spiral staircase, Elion couldn't shake off the weight of his own inadequacy. He was a Moondreamer in name only, a tarnished link in a chain of greatness. And so, he returned to his solitude, a recluse hiding from a world that expected too much and offered too little.

Physical Description

General Physical Condition

Elion Moondreamer possesses the slender, agile build typical of High Elves, yet his posture often slumps, as if burdened by invisible weights. While his physique suggests a natural aptitude for agility and grace, a closer look reveals a subtle tremor in his hands, hinting at inner turmoil or perhaps a magical affliction.

Body Features

Elion's body is a study in elven anatomy: long, lithe limbs and a torso that speaks of a life less physically demanding than most. His skin is a pale shade of alabaster, almost luminescent in the right light, but marred by the occasional bruise or scar—testaments to magical experiments gone awry or perhaps skirmishes with the denizens of the Enchanted Forest. His hands, though trembling, are finely shaped, with elongated fingers that once might have been suited for the delicate work of spell-casting.

Facial Features

Elion's face is sharply angular, with high cheekbones and a pointed chin, features that would be considered striking were they not so often twisted in expressions of discontent or arrogance. His eyes are a deep shade of violet, a common trait among his lineage, but they lack the luster and depth one would expect from a descendant of Genro Moondreamer. His ears, elongated and tapering to fine points, frame a mane of Silver hair that falls just past his shoulders, its luster dimmed as if echoing his internal struggles.

Personal history

Born into the illustrious Moondreamer lineage, Elion's early years were steeped in the grandeur of Myth Wnthalas, the city founded by his ancestor Genro Moondreamer. From a young age, he was tutored in the arcane arts, history, and diplomacy, with the expectation that he would one day uphold the family's legacy. However, Elion was a reluctant student, more enamored with the idea of his heritage than the responsibilities it entailed.   As he reached adulthood, the weight of his lineage became a burden he could no longer bear. Disenchanted and disillusioned, Elion withdrew from High Elf society, seeking solace in a dilapidated tower deep within the Enchanted Forest of Lómeaure. It was here that he came into possession of Lysaerith, the Blade of the Celestial Tempest, a Moonblade passed down through his family. Yet, the blade recognized his unworthiness, growing dormant and dim under his possession.   Elion's self-imposed exile was not a solitary one. Through ancient pacts and magical coercion, he bound pixie servants to his will. These ethereal beings, once radiant and free, found their shimmering wings dimming in sorrow under his mistreatment. They serve him reluctantly, a reflection of his own internal conflicts and shortcomings.   In recent times, Elion has become increasingly reclusive, his tower hidden and camouflaged amidst the foliage of the Enchanted Forest. He clings to Lysaerith as his last connection to a heritage he is unworthy of, unaware that the blade itself yearns for a new, worthy champion. His existence has become a cautionary tale, a stark contrast to the virtues and wisdom of his ancestor Genro Moondreamer.   Elion Moondreamer remains a complex figure, marked by both arrogance and vulnerability. He is a fallen scion of a once-great lineage, a man who has turned his back on his own heritage, yet paradoxically clings to it as if it were his last lifeline. His life serves as a grim reminder that not all who are born into greatness are destined to embrace it.

Personality Characteristics

Motivation

Elion Moondreamer is a labyrinth of conflicting desires and motivations, a soul torn between the weight of his lineage and the limitations of his own character. At the core of his being lies a profound yearning for validation, a desperate need to prove himself worthy of his ancestral legacy. This desire is both his driving force and his greatest tormentor, for the Moonblade Lysaerith remains dormant in his hands, a constant reminder of his unworthiness.

Desire for Validation

Elion's primary motivation is to validate his worth, to prove that he is not merely a shadow of his illustrious ancestor, Genro Moondreamer. This desire manifests in his obsession with awakening Lysaerith, the Blade of the Celestial Tempest, which he believes will finally earn him the respect and admiration he craves.

Fear of Insignificance

A secondary but potent motivation is his fear of insignificance. Elion is acutely aware that he pales in comparison to Genro, and this fear drives him to isolation, away from the society that he believes judges him harshly. His self-imposed exile is both an escape and a prison, a place where he can avoid the judgment of others while wrestling with his own self-doubt.

Quest for Arcane Knowledge

Elion's reclusive nature and the solitude of his hidden tower have also given him ample time to delve into arcane studies. Though not as spiritually profound as Genro, Elion seeks to compensate through intellectual mastery. He hopes that through arcane knowledge, he might find a way to awaken Lysaerith and, in doing so, validate his existence.

Preservation of Lineage

Despite his shortcomings, Elion is not entirely devoid of nobler motivations. He understands the importance of his lineage and feels a sense of duty to preserve it. This is why he clings to Lysaerith, as it is the last tangible connection to his heritage, a heritage he fears he is unworthy of but is unwilling to let go.
