Arkeia's Bath

Arkeia's Bath, a vast inland freshwater sea nestled at the southeastern edge of the Great Meadow, lies within the great rift valley known as Rolara's Tear. Fed by rainfall and mountain runoff, the Bath serves as the lifeblood of the surrounding ecosystem. During the rainy season, its waters swell, creating a reservoir that sustains the valley's life throughout the year. Its rich sediment bed nurtures an abundance of aquatic life, enhancing the biodiversity of the Tear of Rolara. The Bath’s serene surface belies the thriving activity beneath, a hidden sanctuary where life flourishes in quiet harmony.

Geography

Arkeia’s Bath occupies a vital geographic position at the southeastern edge of the Great Meadow, within the Tear of Rolara, a massive rift valley formed by ancient tectonic forces. The region is defined by its rugged coastline, where weathered rock formations extend into the freshwater sea, shaped over millennia by erosion from both wind and water. Surrounding the Bath, dense pine forests rise from the shorelines, fed by consistent rainfall that nurtures the diverse flora.   To the east and north, the valley is bordered by towering mountain ranges that form a natural barrier, with snow-capped peaks that feed the inland sea through runoff. These mountains descend into dense forests and wide grassy plains, creating a seamless transition between rugged highlands and the fertile lowlands near the water. The valley’s unique climate, tempered by its proximity to both mountains and the sea, supports a complex ecosystem that relies heavily on the consistent cycles of rainfall and runoff.   The freshwater body itself is not merely a geographic feature but a crucial component of the region's biodiversity. The sediment-rich bed of the sea provides ideal conditions for aquatic life, enhancing the ecological richness of the valley. Arkeia’s Bath serves as both a natural reservoir and a lifeline for the surrounding environment, storing water during the wet season and releasing it steadily during drier periods. This delicate balance sustains both plant and animal life, marking the Bath as an integral feature in the larger geography of Rolara’s Tear.
