The Oasis

Perched atop a towering mesa beyond the Empire's border zone, The Oasis stands as a lone beacon of indulgence, intrigue, and lawless commerce in the Wildlands. Located just past Brimstone, the last Imperial outpost before true untamed territory, this casino bar and trade market serves as a neutral ground where warlords, rebels, mercenaries, and criminals converge to barter, broker, and bask in the spoils of the frontier.

A Refuge in the Wastes

Built into the ruins of an ancient pre-imperial structure, the Oasis is a mix of rusted metal, salvaged magitech, and repurposed stone. Power is drawn from arcane generators, while underground reservoirs provide the rarest treasure of all—fresh water.   The Oasis is more than just a den of gamblers and traders—it’s a carefully maintained sanctuary of vice and opportunity. While the Wildlands are rife with danger, the Oasis enforces a fragile peace, upheld not by laws, but by the silent agreement of those who stand to lose the most from its destruction. Here, grudges are set aside—at least until business is concluded. This fragile stalemate is enforced by the House; an enigmatic entity that oversees the Oasis though nobody knows their true identity, many speculate it is controlled by one of the major crime families.

A Den of Deals and Dangers

At its heart, the Oasis functions as three things:   A Casino of Risk and Reward – The Oasis boasts a grand gambling hall, where fortunes shift with the roll of the dice and high-stakes magitech duels. From Void Poker to Arcane Roulette, it’s a place where gamblers, bounty hunters, and smugglers wager coin, contraband, and even their own indentured contracts. The House ensures that debts are always collected—one way or another.   A Market Beyond Borders – The lower halls of the Oasis form a bustling trade bazaar, where black-market magitech, stolen Imperial goods, and rare artifacts from forgotten ruins change hands daily. Anything can be bought or sold here—for a price. It’s the only place where merchants from Voidfang Corsairs, the Borg, rogue warforged, and desert nomads can trade without fear of open conflict.   A Bar of Shadows and Secrets – The upper floors house The Mirage, a lavish bar where the richest smugglers, information brokers, and mercenary captains meet behind curtained alcoves. Here, contracts are forged, bounties are negotiated, and alliances are tested over drinks distilled from exotic ingredients. Those with the right connections might even gain access to the Hidden Lounge, where the real power players of the Wildlands convene.

The Unwritten Law

While the Oasis welcomes all, it tolerates no direct Imperial influence—and it has the firepower to back it up. A network of mercenary enforcers, concealed ballista, and powerful wards ensures that no one faction takes control. The only law is the House’s law: business first, bloodshed later. Those who violate this unspoken rule tend to disappear, their debts settled with their lives.

A Crossroads of Fate

To the lost and desperate, the Oasis is a chance at freedom. To the cunning and ruthless, it is a playground of endless opportunity. And to the Empire, it is a festering thorn beyond their reach, where their enemies regroup, their deserters vanish, and their stolen treasures are auctioned off to the highest bidder. At the Oasis, everyone has a price—and nothing is ever truly off the table.
