Vexx Camoran
Born amidst the venomous sanctums and obsidian ziggurats of Primus, Vexx Camoran hails from a society as ancient and brutal as the planet itself. Primus is a world untouched by the Eternal Empire—a place where titanic megafauna roam prehistoric jungles and soaring mesas, and where survival is earned, never given.
The Yuan-Ti are one of the oldest and most secretive factions of Primus, a reclusive offshoot of the Dragon Council. Vexx was born a pureblood, one of the rarest and most revered forms of their kind—graced not just with serpentine lineage in humanoid form, but with psionic gifts that made her a spiritual anomaly.
To her cult-like kin, she was both sacred and dangerous. While the Dragonborn ruled Primus with fire and steel, the Yuan-Ti preferred minds—twisting them, reshaping them, dominating them. And Vexx's raw, uncontrolled power made her a threat to their order. They tried to control her - and they failed.
The Flight to the Stars
Vexx fled Primus under cover of monsoon and moonlight, surviving the death jungles, megafauna, and blood rituals long enough to reach an off-world smuggler's den. Her psionics bought her passage aboard a decrepit colony ship, bound for the fringe settlements at the edge of the Empire's reach.
It was there, hidden among crates of surplus fuel and dried protein rations, that she met Halbrand—a rogue mercenary who had stowed aboard the same vessel for an entirely different reason: to rob it.
Their introduction was less than cordial. After a brief scuffle in the ship’s hold involving psionic disorientation and a very near stabbing, the two realized they were better off not getting each other caught. When a bounty squad swept the colony ship mid-journey, they escaped together—barely.
Moving Forward
Vexx and Halbrand now work together as smugglers-for-hire in the Wildlands of Orpheus, laying low at the Oasis, the lawless neutral ground that keeps factions at bay. Their partnership is one of mutual necessity more than friendship—she’s cautious, cerebral, and quietly haunted; he’s brash, resourceful, and loyal in the way mercenaries are. Vexx hides her psionics from most, but those who’ve seen her in action whisper that she can shatter a man’s mind with a thought. She tries not to use her powers unless she must—not because of mercy, but because every time she does, she hears the echoes of her past calling her back.
