Starsilver Mine

The Starsilver mine is the location of a meteor from the Starfall that burrowed itself deeply into the ice and rock near Rime. The meteor left trace amounts of its component, the magcially-imbued metal known as starsilver, along the walls of the passage.
The starsilver is mined primarily to create magical weapons, although forging them is prohibited by Northwind law. However, the Flare maintains a crew of miners outside the city limits, interacting with them via a deal made with the Rapids Syndicate, to transport the metal into the city for their forge.
Mining starsilver is a risky and dangerous profession, as the cave itself is home to creatures twisted by the magic of the Starfall, and the area is regularly patrolled by the Cohort, ostensibly to prevent starsilver finding its way to weapons foundries, but rumored to be so the Cohort can mine the metal themselves.

Natural Resources

The Starsilver Mine is the source of Rime's illicit Starsilver, used by the Flare Syndicate to forge illegal magical weapons.
