The Blightmark
A blighted wasteland
The fury of the warp storms frequently lashes through the
Blightmark, leaving chaos and confusion in their wake.
Inhabitants of the Blightmark are forced to live a nomadic
life as one must be able to adapt to an evershifting
landscape.
Travellers across this bleak landscape may find refuge from the
nomadic hobgoblin bands or the eldritch storms in one of
the many ruins scattered across the Blightmark. Many of these ruins are
recent remnants of a failed goblinoid kingdom, but older sites may
date from the Abban Empire or even earlier. Rumour tells of some
rare sites that may even date from before the Great Cataclysm .
Inhabitants
Gnomes: Heavily armed caravans of gnomes traverse the Blightmark. Abandoning magic that has proven unreliable during a warpstorm, gnomes have found numerous creative ways to move their communities across the Blightmark. These caravans survive (and even thrive) as they provide an interconnected network, bridging the cultures of eastern and western Riesa. Each caravan train has its own traditions, whether it uses summoned eidolons, clockwork contraptions, or strange alchemy to power their wagons. Gnomes from different traditions rarely stay together for long as their strong opinions can easily escalate into open conflict. Goblinoids: Roving bands of hobgoblins are common sights in the Blightmark. Organized and ruthless, hobgoblin tribes are an ever present danger. Goblins eke out a meager existence at the margins of the woodlands bordering the open plains of the Blightmark. Bugbears, while rarer, have a strong presence in the hills in the west of the Blightmark, frequently coming into conflict with dwarven communities. Spiders: Deep in the woodlands bordering the Blightmark, the dark shadows are made deeper by many layers of webs. Spiders, ettercaps, and similar creatures of all sorts are the primary inhabitants of the deep forest.Natural Resources
